October 2015 | Paint The Town Chic
I love sharing new and unique products on Paint The Town Chic, and Kerastase's new Resistance Bain Therapiste collection is definitely something to talk about.  I received full size samples of the Shampoo and Conditioner in a recent Voxbox (anyone else a fan of Voxbox!) and I was instantly drawn to this reverse method of cleaning.  Yup, reverse meaning you use the conditioner first!

So who should be using the Resistance Bain Therapiste products?  Anyone with over processed or damaged hair, or those who tend to heat style their hair frequently.  I am a culprit of all of the above!  I tend to color/highlight my hair, and sometimes I can use a little help with freshening up my locks.
I loved how the products made my hair feel, even after just one use.  My hair was much smoother, less frizzy, and it even felt healthier.  On top of making my hair look good, this shampoo and conditioner smells so good.  Typically with traditional conditioner, I never feel like I'm getting all of the product out of my hair.  Not the case with Bain Therapiste.  I'm excited to see how it works with my new shorter hair.  I only sampled 2 out of the 4 products in this line, but I feel like I have to add the styling products to my daily routine!  I know this is very different from traditional hair products but they are definitely worth a try!

In other news, I'm looking forward to this week being over and feeling stress free again!  Halloween events are fun, but are also a lot of work!

Thanks to Influenster for providing these full sized samples in exchange for my honest opinion.  All thoughts shared above are my own.

When it comes to clothing, an element of surprise can be refreshing.  That's why I love trying out subscription boxes.  I've been a fan of Golden Tote, but there are so many other sites out there.  Recently I've been testing out a few other clothing subscription sites, and while all have their appeal, there's one site that I keep gravitating towards - Moxie Style!  What makes Moxie different from others is the owner's honesty and transparency about the products and the stellar customer service!  She also has the best prices around.  You can check out some reviews on products I've received here, here, and here.

Something that Moxie recently offered was the FAME tote.  Moxie compiled a variety of items that we could vote on, and we were sent items from what we selected.  The process started in August and I received my tote in September; you can take a peek of the items I received below!  I choose the 4 item tote for $79 and received 2 dresses, a sweater and a tank.
From the quick snapshot of what I received, I seem to have a neutral color scheme going on, which is very unlike me!  But I received some quality items that I really like!  3 of the 4 items I voted on, but the floral tank was not one of my picks.  It was an adorable tank, and I usually love floral prints, but this particular tank just seemed boxy on me.  Most subscriptions are an all or nothing package.  If you don't like one item-you most likely have to return the entire thing.  Not so with Moxie.  For this FAME, they offered a trade in opportunity, and I was able to trade in the floral tank for the pocket cardi in black (seen in gray above) which was one of my initial requests!  I just received it this weekend and can't wait to wear it.
Since I've only styled the gray sweater, you'll be sure to see the other items here in coming weeks!

Moxie has so much going on that it can be confusing at times.  The best thing to do is to join the Facebook group and read the various posts to keep up!  Facebook is also how you'll find out about all the special sales and the newest items!  Regardless, you can be sure of getting quality clothes at a great deal anytime you purchase from Moxie!

Lauren Conrad Sweater, old | Lauren Conrad Pleather Skirt, old (love this and this!) |Clutch (this month's Ipsy bag!) | Chloe + Isabel Earrings | theBalm Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Committed

A busy week was followed by unfortunately getting sick, but I'm on the mend and back with a fun new fall look.  Burgundy is one of my go to colors of the season, and I'm loving that color on this faux leather skirt!  I grabbed this a few months ago from Kohl's and held on because I knew I could wear it in the fall.  The skirt is a little big for me, but I'm hoping I can alter because I love the A-line shape!  I paired it with a cropped sweater, also a Lauren Conrad piece from a few months ago.  High waisted skirts and cropped sweaters is a perfect match!

I also featured 2 items from this month's Ipsy bag.  This gold clutch is the perfect size to fit my phone and a few essentials, which I'm happy about since so many of the bags go unused!  I'm also wearing theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipstick in Committed.  I have to say, I'm obsessed with the formula and the color.  It's matte, but not drying at all and is the perfect light pink for my skin tone.  A more in depth review will be up later this month!

I couldn't forget mentioned the big bow wrap, which is perfect for hiding a bad hair day!!  Or is the perfect use for any skinny scarves you have laying around!

I'm definitely looking forward to another day of resting!  Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

As I wait for this month's Ipsy bag to arrive, I figure now is a great time to catch up and share some thoughts on the products I received last month!
1.) Vasanti Cosmetics Brighten Up! Exfoliating Cleanser
This was by far my favorite item this month.  Ipsy sends mostly cosmetics samples, but I've found some of my favorite skincare brands and products through these bags.  And Vasanti is one of those brands.  This exfoliator is amazing, and I use it about twice a week for a deep cleansing.  It works without feeling harsh.  I highly recommend this cleanser; it even comes in a travel size tube for those worried about trying it out.

2.) City Color Cosmetics Lipstick in One Night Stand
I was pleasant surprised by this lipstick, but I have been loving darker colors lately.  This shade was a muted hot pink; it wasn't overly bright on me, but definitely not a color to wear to work!

3.) Crown Brush Oval Concealer Brush
I don't use concealer, but this brush will get put to some other use!  Looks like they have a great selection of brushes on the website.

4.) Pixi by Petra Brow Powder Trio
I was very excited to get this.  My eyebrows are the most neglected part of the face when it comes to makeup, so this is a much needed item. I've loved all the Pixi products I've gotten-it's definitely a drugstore brand so not as high quality but definitely worth checking out.

5.) NYX Cosmetics Ipsy Eyeshadow Trio
I'm a little tired of getting eyeshadows from Ipsy (I usually get one each month and they're all the same color!) But this is the perfect trio for a smokey eye, all in one palette!  I love that this is an Ipsy exclusive, but there are other trios available on the site.

I'm loving this rose gold bag as well.  I would definitely reuse it as a clutch.  Overall I'm happy with the products I sampled this month and look forward to seeing what's in store for October.

Sweater Vest, old | New York & Company Jeans, similar here | New York and Company bag, old, but love this | Leopard print scarf, similar here | Fringe Booties, from my local Nordstrom Rack | Chloe + Isabel Earrings, old | Lip Bar Lipstick in Crimson Wonderland (was a limited edition shade, but also love Cosmo)

Happy National Handbag Day!  Today I decided to plan around my bag, which doesn't happen often! I'm highlighting one of my favorite bags for this season-a burgundy tote that is the perfect fall color.  This bag is also the perfect size for everyday use, not too big or too small.  I definitely need more fall colored handbags!

Layering is one of my favorite fall trends!  I'm especially loving vests on top of tunics and long sleeved tops.  I'm still working on perfecting the pant cuffs, but I think this works!  New York and Company always has the comfiest jeans for a great price.

I don't straighten my hair often, but when I do I need quality heat protectant products.  Redken just me some products from their new Pillow Proof line and I'm really loving it!   I'll be changing up my hair later this month, so the products will definitely come in handy for styling.

Finally I had to do a shoutout to this lovely lip color, a limited edition Lip Bar lipstick that I got in an old Glossybox!  I'm really loving this brand and the beautiful packaging it comes in.  They have a nice collection of shades, so it's worth checking out!

Jennifer Lopez Embellished Boyfriend Jeans (similar here) | Target Flamingo Sweater | Clutch, old | Fergie Snakeskin Pumps, old | Necklace, old | Chloe & Isabel bracelet

Typically I'm a "business in the front, party in the back" type of gal, but I had to change that up when I saw the blinged out pockets on these boyfriend jeans.   I was already excited to find a pair of boyfriend jeans, but was sold when I saw the embellished pocket details!  I love that I can show off the details with a fitted shirt, or cover it up if I want a more simple look.  One thing I've learned is that you either have t stick to you size or even size down with boyfriend jeans.

Since we're still in a phase where the weather can't decide to stay hot or cold, I'm still holding on to summer trends, like my whites and pastels!  But my favorite fall trend is layering, and I paired this sweater with a longer tunic that I've had for a long time.  I liked the peplum look it created.  Next time I would pair a more fitted sweater with the boyfriend jeans.
