July 2016 | Paint The Town Chic
She & Sky Floral Dress | Charlotte Russe Lace Up Sandals (not available online) | Jewelry, old | Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Chihuahua c/o Glossybox

I love floral prints, but moody florals have an extra special place in my heart.  I don't know what it is about these dark backgrounds peppered with flowers, but I can't get enough.  And since we're all thinking about fall fashion, these prints are really great to wear in the fall and winter.

I was lucky enough to find this She & Sky dress in a recent Golden Tote surprise tote!  Swing dresses are great because they hide any lumps and bumps, but this borders on having just a bit too much fabric.  No worries as I'll be wearing this a lot this fall and layering it with cardigans should hide some of the weight.  I couldn't find the exact dress online, but I've linked some of my favorite moody florals below.

In terms of accessories, I kept it pretty simple.  I paired with these lace-up sandals for now,  but I can't wait to wear some tall boots in the cooler weather!

My favorite monthly pink box is back!!  It seems like just yesterday I posted a review on the June edition of Glossybox but I have to share the amazingness that was July.  I think there are a few versions of the box floating around (see what I did there!) but all of the products fit in with the poolside theme.  All of the products in my box were new to me so I was thrilled to try everything.
Before I get any further, Glossybox has a special deal!  For a limited time, use code DOUBLE to get 2 boxes for the price of one!

As you can tell from above, this month's box was filled to the brim with the perfect summer items.

1.) Nuxe Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse (Nuxe Dry Oil is also available at Target!)
I've been hearing quite a bit about Nuxe Dry Oil and it was one of the products I couldn't wait to try.  There are so many uses for this oil-use it in your hair pre shower as a deep conditioning treatment or post shower for smooth hair; add a few drops to foundation for glowing, dewy skin; add to moisturizer for an extra glow; or apply a bit of the oil prior to a face mask makes the mask even more effective!  I've only used it in my hair and I have to say, it really softened and defined my hair.  Finally, if the reasons above aren't enough reason to get this, the light floral scent is to die for.  This beauty must have is a no-brainer.

2.) Leighton Denny Expert Nails Miracle Mist
Now this is a product that I wouldn't think to get, but is such a handy tool!  I love getting manicures, but for the most part do my nails at home.  I don't know about you, but I always end up doing my nails at night, right before bed.  And it's always a bad idea... Expert Nails Miracle Mist is said to dry nails in seconds and conditions cuticles.  I'll be trying this over the weekend!

3.) Too Faced Melted in Chihuahua
Even though Too Faced Melted lipsticks have been around for a while, can you believe I hadn't tried them until now!  Chihuahua was the perfect shade for me (and I imagine it's flattering for most skin tones as well!)  The color is a rosy-nude and is perfect for everyday natural looks or with a darker eye!  I also loved the tip which helped provide an even coverage.  I will definitely be trying some other shades now.
If you're curious as to what this shade looks like, it will be featured in the next style post!

4.) Fango Essenziali Moisture Treatment Sheet Mask
I'm always up for trying a new face mask.  I've recently gotten into sheet masks so I can't wait to try this over the weekend!  I love that this particular mask is made with avocado, kelp and acai berry - ingredients that nourish and moisturize skin!

5.) Eyeko Fat Stick in Satin
Now this was one product that I initially wasn't looking forward to; I don't use eyeshadow much.  However, after swatching this, I'm obsessed.  I liked the pigmentation, the color is gorgeous (it's a gold metallic with lots of shimmer) and is definitely on trend right now.  The eyeshadow also stays put for a long time, which is always a problem for me.  This is one eyeshadow I will be keeping and happily use.

6.) Glov Quick Treat
The last item in the box was this innovative makeup remover.  I was excited to try this as I usually like using wipes or a cloth at night.  This is unique because you only need the glove and water to clean your face!  The glove can be used for 3 months because of the nature of microfibers used (but wash with soap and water after use).  Also, the glove enhances circulation through the exfoliation.  So many reasons to incorporate this into your skincare routine.

August Spoiler: I loved the sneak peak Glossybox included for one of the August items.  It's the Too Faced Mascara Melt Off.  I would definitely love to try that-I've never used a makeup remover like that.

This was my favorite month of Glossybox yet.  I loved how many of the products came from different countries-I'm always up for trying brands we don't normally get here.  Want to see more of Glossybox?  Check out the May and June reviews here!

Black Tee, old (similar here and it comes in 5 colors!) | Golden Tote Skirt | Sandals, old (similar here) | Clutch, old | Lilly Pulitzer Beau Belt | Hair: Matrix Oil Wonders Rose Volume Collection c/o

This is one of my favorite skirts at the moment.  The floral print, the periwinkle background, and the midi length - it's just perfection.  I snagged it from Golden Tote (a special request after I saw a sneak peek online!)  I paired it with black, but it would look great with white as well.  Because the print is so pretty, I wanted to make that the highlight of my outfit and kept the rest of the look more casual!

I have to give a shoutout to the Matrix Oil Wonders Rose Volume Collection.  My hair hasn't been this curly in such a long time, and while I attribute part of it to the major humidity we're experiencing, the Oil Wonders really did work wonders!  And it smells amazing.  I used the majority of products in the line to get this look, and they all worked well together.  This line is recommended for those with fine hair.  I don't have fine hair, but I always appreciate a boost in volume so don't let that stop you from trying this!

It's feeling like the triple digits and right now I'm all about airy pieces that can be layered.  That includes this pineapple tank and the fringe kimono.  I've always loved pineapple prints, but this tank from Victoria's Secret is one of my favorite pieces!  Anyone else sad that VS doesn't sell clothing anymore?!

Another quintessential summer accessory is sunnies.  These sunglasses from Ilymix are just $20 and come in a few different colors.  In fact, they have a great collection of cute sunglasses to chose from.

ShopDressUp Top (pink sold out) | Dear John Avril Floral Jeans (sold out) | Wedges, old | Target Crossbody, old

Today I'm sharing a little secret about how I find great pieces at amazing prices.  Lately I've been doing a lot of my shopping through Facebook.  Yep, you heard right-Facebook!  These online "boutiques" post their pieces on Facebook.  Moxie Style is one of those groups that I shop, mostly during their amazing sales.  One of my most recent acquisitions are these Dear John floral jeans which I fell in love with immediately.  Aside from the amazing print, these jeans are the softest jeans ever, and they are just so comfortable.  I will definitely be looking for more from this brand.   I believe this particular style is older so I can't find these available anywhere, however I linked a few of my favorites including some fall florals below!

I'd been hoarding these floral pants for a while now, mostly because the search for the perfect top wasn't working out.  Believe me, I searched far and wide until I came across this pretty cold shoulder top just a few weeks ago.  I love the delicate ruffle at the neckline and as well as the longer hemline (which is perfect for printed skinnies!)  I love both of these pieces so much that I will be transitioning them into my fall wardrobe.

It's been quiet on the subscription front here on Paint The Town Chic!  For one reason or another, all of my June subscription boxes arrived later in the month!   Glossybox kindly sent me their June box to try out and after last month's box (see here for review), I was excited to see what was inside the pretty red packaging.  The June box was inspired by the Tony Awards and contained a carefully curated selection of products to help create a star-worthy look!  So while you may have already seen this revealed, I still wanted to share some thoughts on the products I received.

1.) LA Splash Diamond Lipgloss in Sugar Rush
No glamorous look is complete without the perfect lippy.  LA Splash Cosmetics created some special shades just for Glossybox and Sugar Rush was one of them.  Sugar Rush is a deep coral that was so flattering on my tan skin tone.  I'm glad I received this shade instead of the red because it's perfect for summer.  I found the formula to be lush and the product was so easy to apply.  There was great color payout, and I found I didn't have to reapply multiple times.  The product was not drying (very important to me when it comes to selecting lip products!) and while it's not the most long lasting lipstick out there, it held on for a long time.

2.) Icona Milano Emotion Allowed Mascara (can't find for purchase in the US)
Even though I currently have so many mascara samples, mascara is one of my favorite beauty products to try. Especially when it's by a brand I've never heard of before.  Icona Milano is an Italian brand, so I'm glad Glossybox added it to the this month's box.  This will be my next mascara to open and I'll be sharing some thoughts on Instagram so make sure you're following Paint The Town Chic there!

3.) Lue by Jean Seo Clear Spot Treatment
Now this is one product that I'm thankful to not have to use but will keep it on hand in case of emergencies.  According to Lue (another new-to-me brand!) this is Step 3 of a 3 part skincare system to help maintain clear and flawless skin!  Apply this immediately if you feel a blemish coming on.  Clear can be used with the other products in the line, mixed with other lines, or simply on its own.  Reviews seem to be great so I have high hopes!

4.) Vichy Thermal Spa Water
It seems that Vichy's Thermal Spa Water is a staple in the subscription box world.  I like the idea of it, but I have to admit I've never used my other sample.  However, since summer really just kicked in and triple digit weather is coming, I'm thinking this will finally get some use!  Aside from just being a great pick-me-up, this is great way to refresh makeup throughout the day!

5.) Caolion Pore Blackhead Sparkling Soap
I'm not normally a fan of bar soaps but had to give this a chance when I saw charcoal was an ingredient!  Have I mentioned how much I LOVE skincare products containing charcoal?  When first opened, this pretty little bar has a slight hint of vanilla.  The easiest way to use this is to lather the soap on your hands and then cleanse your face.  I was surprised by the amount of foam the soap created and how moisturized my face felt.  Of course I still applied face creme, but this was definitely not drying like some of the other cleansers I've used!  Immediately after using I could see a reduction of blackheads and my face just felt a lot cleaner.  I'm looking forward to continue using it and hopefully seeing more results!

6.) Sebastian Professional Shaper Fierce
Hairspray is not a hair product that I generally use.  That being said, just today I desperately needed something to tame the flyaways that never seem to cooperate.  A spray or two got the job done.  This perfect sized sample will be definitely be joining my work bag for emergencies!

Bonus Sample: Sebastian Dark Oil
The June Glossybox included a bonus sample of the Dark Oil, but they also sent me a full sized version.   Clearly they knew how much I would like this product!  The first thing I noticed was the scent!   Sandalwood, cedarwood and argan oil created a perfect blend that was light and slightly floral.  I put a few drops and ran it through my hair midway to the roots (I used it on dry hair but I imagine it would work just as well on damp hair.)   My hair didn't feel greasy at all and the oil helped combat frizz.  You can also use the Dark Oil as an intensive hair mask or add a few drops to your conditioner!  This was by far my favorite item in the June box!  Check out Insta to see the results after using Dark Oil!

June was another great month for Glossybox.  If you haven't tried out this subscription yet, I highly recommend giving it a chance!

THML Swing Dress | Shoes, old | Clutch, old | Bracelets, old

Today I'm sharing a quick post highlighting swing dresses!  This dress (or really tunic because anyone taller would find this scandalously short) in particular is a great piece for all year.  The length and the airy material make it perfect for hot weather, but it can easily be layered for fall.  This print and colors are gorgeous.  This style looks adorable with leggings or skinnies so don't let the length scare you from getting this.

Who says your hair can't have any bling!  I'm loving all the hair jewelry I'm seeing these days, but I just went through my jewelry box and found that this bracelet (one of my favs) adorned my bun perfectly.  It was so easy to do and gave me another excuse to wear this bracelet.

Finally, just tested out a new-to-me mascara thanks to Ipsy.  I loved how it made my lashes look.  I highly recommend trying the Smashbox X-Rated Mascara-great definition and length for an everyday look!

Carousel Tassel Tank (not available any longer, but love this from Autumn Olive Boutique, or see dress version here) | Lauren Conrad Black Skinnies | Sandals, old | Bag, old | Jewels, old

I've been holding onto this tank for a while now, and I couldn't have brought it out at a more perfect time.  The lightweight material (though somewhat wrinkle prone) is so breezy and perfect for summer heatwaves.  But my favorite part - the whimsical print of course.  I was instantly drawn to the gorgeous carousel print; the color scheme also gives it a vintage look!  And if it couldn't get any better, the top has a gorgeous strappy back and is bra friendly at the same time!  I can't find this tank online, but I did link the dress version which is equally beautiful!

Hope everyone had a great July 4th weekend!  I sure did but it went by so fast!
