August 2014 | Paint The Town Chic

Top: old from H&M (love this and this) | Pants: Pixi Pants from Old Navy (cobalt may still be in stores!) | Mascara: Benefit's They're Real!

Cobalt may just be my favorite color right now.  It's such a great transition color for fall, especially in the form of pants.  These pants were way comfier than expected...but then again, Old Navy pants haven't  disappointed me before.  Since I can't wear jeans to work, so this is a great alternative at an even better price.  After trying them out, I can clearly see that I need to get more colors!  I can't wait to style them up with a fun patterned top  and heels!

Also, a side note on how much I'm loving Benefit's They're Real mascara!  I just received the Younique 3d fiber lash mascara so I can't wait to see how that compares.  I'm very intrigued by their line of products.  A review will be coming soon!

Today was all about Lilly Pulitzer's After Party Sale!  I was looking forward to picking up some new additions to my Lilly collection and this year's selection did not disappoint.  In fact, I was going back and forth over a few pieces, but I'm so glad with my selection!  Here is what I snagged:

The one dress I've wanted for a while is the Let's Cha Cha Marlisa Maxi, but I love my other finds and can't wait until they get here.  I also have my eye on this dress, so we'll see what tomorrow brings!

There's still a good selection, so if you haven't checked out the sale, there's 2 more days!  What did you get in today's sale?

Dress, old (see my favorite paisley pieces here, here, and here!) | Rings, Burlington Style | Zoya polishes in Rocha and Lara

It was a  closet remix type of day!  Paisley print is back in a big way and I think it's a great transition print.  I've had this strapless dress for a while now, but thought it would be fun to wear since the weather has been feeling more fall like this week.  I can't wait to add a pair of boots to this ensemble, but I'm definitely taking advantage of the last few weeks of summer.  I also couldn't wait to wear these new rings from Burlington Coat Factory.  The jewelry section is a pleasant surprise every time...I just can't go home empty handed.  It's a great place to stock up on statement or inspired pieces, especially if you don't want to dish out the big bucks.

Hope you have a great weekend!

One classic print that has lately grown on me is polka dots.  It's such a fun print to use while pattern mixing, but is also a great closet staple.  Here are some polka dots pieces that I'm currently crushing on...

H&M Blouse (love this in powder pink) | LC Lauren Conrad jean, Kohls (similar here) | Candie's Crossbody Bag (similar here) | Steven by Steve Madden Pumps (pink and orange version still available here)

As much as I love bright colors and prints, sometimes a good casual outfit is needed.  My favorite casuals come from H&M, just like this white blouse.  A crisp white blouse and jeans is one of my favorite combos.  This time, I decided to pair with some colorful accessories in the form of heels and a crossbody bag.  Will definitely be incorporating more simple outfits into my wardrobe!  What are your favorite stores for neutral pieces?

This Ipsy review is a little late, but I still wanted to share my goodies!  I always look forward to getting my bag each month, especially because I can't resist peeking at my Glam Room!  Here is what this month's bag consisted of:

1.) Pop Beauty Sunkissed Bronzer
I love bronzer.  In fact, Bronzer and mascara are my favorite products to test out, so I was definitely anxious to try this product. And it did not disappoint!  Loved the way this went on and it's a great color for my tan skin.  This is definitely one of my favorite Ipsy products so far!  Tried to swatch it below.

2.) Bare Minerals Cream Eye Shadow in Divine Wine
I was curious about this eye shadow, and Bare Minerals in general.  This shadow was surprisingly opaque and had great coverage. The brush actually had so much product that I had it blend it with my finger.  Seems like it will be a good base as it didn't smudge, but also has some sparkle when worn alone.  If I purchase this product, I'd want to try a different color-not loving this shade but maybe it will grow on me.

3.) Pixi Beauty Tinted Brilliance Balm in Pretty Pink
Lately, I've been getting more into lip products, so I love getting new products to try in my Ipsy bag. This Pixi Balm was the winner of the July bag.  I loved this product.  I love that it didn't dry my lips, loved the shade and loved the tingle right after applying.  I will have to try this topped with a shiny gloss as well.  I will be looking up the other colors available.

4.) Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray
I have mixed feelings about this.  I loved the smell, but it didn't seem to last long in my hair.  And already having curly hair, it actually added some dimension to my hair, but I don't like the feel of "crunchy" hair!   Regardless, I was so happy to get this and I will definitely be trying more Sexy Hair products.

5.) Hang Ten Dark Tanning Oil
I didn't even bother to try this.  As someone with tan skin, I have no need for this so this is going to a friend.  I figure there will be a dud every few bags!!

6.) Pink Scalloped Bag
I just loved the July bag!  I wish these were more clutch sized so I could use it out and about.  As cute as these bags can be, they are an awkward size and I don't have much use for them because I have so many.

Did you love the July bag? If you're not an Ipsy subscriber, don't wait any longer to sign up!  It's a lot of fun to get new beauty products each month.  I would love for you to use my link if you check it out!

Dress: Seaside Socialite Maxi, Red Dress Boutique / Earrings: Burlington Style (love these and these)

It's no secret that I love maxi dresses...and bright prints...so it was natural to add this gorgeous tropical maxi to my wardrobe.  Since the print is so vivid, I didn't want to add to many accessories aside from the statement earrings above.  Another great thing about this dress is that I can wear this with flats.  Being on the shorter end of the spectrum, I have to hem most maxis.  I transitioned this from work (with a sweater) to a evening out with friends.  This dress really brightened up my day with a little taste of the tropics!

Are you loving the tropical floral trend for the summer?

Summer may still be going strong, but I'm getting excited for fall fashions!  Cardigans, tunics, boots...they are some of my favorite things to wear!  One of my favorite details right now is fringe!  These pieces are all great for transitioning through the seasons, and I can't wait to to pick up a few of these!

Carrier 17 Clutch, DDSLLGirls | Fabulous Fringe Tunic, Mint Julep Boutique | Throw Kimono, Golden Tote* (also comes in black and grey) | DV by Dolce Vita Promise, Zappos | Multistrand Necklace, H&M

Just a note on the Golden Tote (my favorite subscription ever!!) The sale starts Monday August 4, but the Kimono should be up on the boutique sometime today.  If you want to find out more about Golden Tote, check out my previous reviews here and here.  If you want to purchase a tote, I would love for you to use my link.
