October 2014 | Paint The Town Chic

Dress, Tart Collection from Burlington Coat Factory (see here for this season's versions) | Moto Jacket, Kohls (love this and this)

I love dressing up, and this is the time of year where there are a lot of events to dress up for.  This weekend, I attended a Masquerade Ball fundraiser and had a great time.   This Tart Collection dress was a complete steal and my first introduction to the brand.  I fell in love with the print as soon as I saw it.  I had heard rave reviews about the fit and it really is one of the most flattering maxi dresses out there-just give it a try and you'll see what I mean!  I also decided to pair with a moto jacket for an edgier look instead of my typical pashmina!  And of course an outfit isn't complete without accessories.

Wedges, old | Earrings, old | Cuff, Victoria's Secret (hurry, promotion ends October 30) | Clutch, old | Hairspray, Living Proof | Younique Mascara | Diorshow Mascara Primer | Maybelline Eye Studio gel eyeliner | Nars Lip Gloss in Coup de Coeur (this shade not available but so many other great ones to chose from)

The cuff is seriously one of my favorite pieces of jewelry and it was FREE!  It was the most recent Victoria's Secret promotion and definitely worth it in my opinion (and goes until October 30, so hurry and get yours.)  I also have to bring up my new obsession-Living Proof Flex Shaping Hairspray (thanks to the fabulous Su-Shan from Starshine Salon for introducing me to it!!)  Hairspray scares me, but this product provides amazing volume and shape and smells amazing.  I can't wait to try more of their products.

You picked out a dress, shoes and jewelry, but no outfit is complete without a clutch! The perfect bag can enhance an outfit and I'm loving browsing (and adding!) to my collection.  Here are some of my favorite picks for the fall and upcoming holidays!

(pair with an LBD or gold dress)

(Love this with black or ivory)

 (pair with a deep purple)

(would look great with navy dress and gold accessories)

(perfect with a gold or blue dress)

These clutches are the perfect sleek accessory for the holidays!.  A pop of color will enhance your LBD!  And don't forget metallic clutches and snakeskin print.  So many great picks out there, what's your favorite?

Blouse (comes in new colorway here) | Pants, old | Boots, old | Bag, H&M (may still be found in stores, but love this and this)| Bangles c/o Emerson Grace

I love navy.  I love pink.  But when you put the two colors together...it really is one of my favorite color combinations.  And perfect for fall.  Navy is a great cold weather staple, and pink adds a nice bright pop, especially a hot pink!  And that's what I decided to pair with my Lilly Pulitzer Tusk in Sun Elsa.  It was my first Elsa purchase and I really do like it. I'll definitely try it with my white skinny jeans and a navy blazer or my hot pink skirt!

As always, accessories can change the personality of the outfit.  I wore boots to keep it casual, but I'd love to pair a blazer with nude pumps.

Anyone else a fan of Elsas?  How do you style them-I'd love to hear your suggestions!

Last week I attended Fashion.Mission.Cause, a fun event at 1822 Boutique.  1822 Boutique, an upscale resale shop in Philly, is the perfect haven for shopoholics who love to help the community.  Every purchase helps "empower women to succeed" through programs at the Career Wardrobe!  I had so much fun meeting other bloggers and industry professionals that I didn't get a chance to take many pictures of the boutique.  But never fear, I'll be featuring them here in some upcoming posts.

I was really excited to meet Laini from Style With Laini, a style expert who had a lot of great beauty tips to share during the event and I'm going to share some of them with you! She mentioned that eyes and lips are the features that we should be highlighting when wearing makeup!

Full eyebrows are in, and luckily there isn't much I have to do to shape my own.  But there are some great products out there to create the illusion of a fuller brow.  I have Benefit's Gimme Brow that I will definitely be trying out.   But, to create a more of an arch, apply a highlighter right under the brow.  Laini tried another Benefit product on me, Watt's Up, to achieve the look but a pearl eyeshadow also works!

I've been more open to trying lipcolors lately, but I've never done much prep work.  I sampled an amazing Motives lip exfoliator and I can't believe what I've been missing.  Topped off with a toner, my lips felt so much healthier and created a smoother base to apply the color after.  And you only need to exfoliate once a week-I can handle that!! I will also be sure to use a primer and lip liner before applying gloss or lipstick.

So many great tips that I will be trying on my own.  I can't end without doing a little more shopping!  The wonderful Danielle of Ryan Madeline Jewelry has a Chloe & Isabel pop up shop and proceeds will be donated back to the Career Wardrobe!  Here are some of my favorite pieces:

How amazing are the colors on this Medina Amethyst & Turquoise Cuff!

This Pave Snake Ring is such a fun accessory to pair with boots and a moto jacket!

Love this Plum Three Row Necklace with a solid tee and jeans!

Can't wait to visit 1822 Boutique again and see what new pieces are in!

Dress: Kohls, old (love this and this) | Sweater: New York and Company, old (love this) | Bag: New York and Company (may still be in stores) | Boots: Ross

This dress makes me so happy.  I love how bright and cheery it is, and the colors are perfect for fall (though the weather here feels anything but cold-not that I'm complaining!!)  Navy and orange - you can't go wrong with that combo.  I also love the neckline/sleeves on this dress, feels retro and so feminine.  This dress pairs so well with pearls, but with my hair pulled back today I wanted to wear some flashy earrings.

I'm a huge sweater fan, so I'll be adding some fall friendly colors to my closet soon. If anyone has some suggestions for where to buy cardigans, feel free to pass them my way!

How perfect is plaid right now.  The Zara Blanket Scarf and all it's inspired looks are taking over closets across the world right now.  I'm guilty of it too (after tracking down the last coveted tan scarf at my local Target this past week.)  But here are some other amazing beauties featuring this classic fall print that cannot be overlooked!

Ok, I couldn't resist sharing these scarves!  We're all loving the tan colorway, but how fun are these options...

ShopRuche Convertible Cape | Old Navy Dress | Asos Skirt | Anthropologie Top (on sale!!) | Target Scarf | Anthropologie Scarf

Really loving some of these color combos too, especially the greens of that skirt!  I need to add more plaid into my closet!

But if anyone is still looking for the Zara Inspired scarf, here is another great option that I came across during my Sunday shopping session, at a great price.

Dress: New York & Company, old (similar here) | Jacket: Kohls (love this and this) | Booties: Kohls(similar in black here)

I love florals, and this vintage inspired dress from a previous Eva Mendes line is the perfect fall floral print!  After wearing it this summer, I wanted to find a new way to style it that would work for the season.  And that meant a structured jacket and booties that would compliment the colors of the dress.  This jacket will surely be making further appearances on this.  It's comfortable, form fitting and the neutral will look great with jeans for a night out!

Hope you have a happy Wednesday!!
