January 2016 | Paint The Town Chic
ShopEnclothe Burgundy Dress | Charlotte Russe Boots, old | GoldenTote Crossbody, old | Chloe + Isabel Earrings | Rocksbox Ring, old

Between the weather and the late nights, it's been a long week!  But on the bright side, the weather is warming up and today I'm excited to share a pretty Valentine's Day outfit option.  I originally got this dress for the holidays (and I was able to wear it for a late holiday party this week), but the gorgeous details and the pretty red color make it a great option for date night.  That crochet back may just be my favorite part!  I got this from a recent ShopEnclothe purchase and I'm loving it (and the company) a lot.

I also stopped by Volume Hair Salon for a cut and color with Diana and I'm beyond impressed with my new style!  It was my first time getting a balayage ombre and Diana took her time to get it perfect.   If you're in the Philly area and looking to try a new stylist, check her out!

Hope everyone has a great week!

What a weekend!  The snow is pretty, but recovering from this blizzard has not been fun.  Can you tell I'm not a huge fan of the snow/cold!  Luckily this weather was the perfect excuse to pull out the blanket scarf I recently received!  The colors and prints are beautiful, but my favorite part is that it's reversible!  Naturally I had to figure out all the ways I can style it, and I'm sharing some of my favorites below.
There are countless other ways to wear this scarf I'm sure, but my favorite is at the top!  This is just so warm and comfy!  I figure the only outfit styling I'll be doing for the rest of winter will be with my scarves and coats...so this will be at the top of the pile!

Hope you ladies aren't tired of beauty and skincare posts because I've had the chance to try some really great products lately and I happen to be sharing them this week!  Who doesn't love trying new products!
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
I'd seen commercials for the Micellar Water, and I honestly wasn't sure what to expect!  This is one of my favorite cleansing products now.  At night, I prefer using makeup removing wipes because they get rid of makeup better than just a regular cleanser and because it's too cold in winter to spend a long time washing my face (ok, it may be part laziness too.)  With the Micellar Water, you just apply to a cotton pad and wipe off - no washing afterwards!  So easy.

The Micellar Water comes in two options - Regular and for Waterproof Makeup.  I don't recommend waterproof makeup because it's not great for the skin, so of course I gravitated towards the regular bottle.  It's a very gentle cleanser (no harsh or harmful ingredients); was perfect for my oily prone skin (no oils) and removed my makeup quickly and without too much effort or product.  So glad I was able to try this!  Both options had similar results for me because I don't use waterproof makeup anymore.
Garnier Clearly Brighter Brightening and Smoothing Moisturizer
I'm always trying new moisturizers since I haven't found the perfect one...until now!  Not only did this go on smooth and evenly, my face felt brighter after using it.  The moisturizer also has SPF; protection from the sun is important all year!  The best part is that it smells wonderful and is definitely the perfect pick me up during my morning routine.  I highly recommend this moisturizer!

With this campaign, I generously received samples for family and friends as well!  My sister had been wanting to try the Micellar Water and she liked how this worked for her.  We have different skin issues, so it was nice to see that these products are effective for for all skin types!  Can't wait to hear what my other friends think of these SkinActive products.  I'd love to hear what you think of them as well!

*Thanks to Crowdtap and Garnier for the samples in exchange for my honest review.  All opinions shared above are my own.

I've been lucky enough to sample some great beauty products recently, so I'm excited to share them on Paint The Town Chic.  The first is the January Ipsy bag.  It's been a while since the last reveal, so it's finally time for another!   I loved the theme for this month, which was All Eyes On You!  4 out of my 5 products were for the eyes...

1.) PEEK Beauty Natural Stain Brow Powder in Expresso
This was the item I was the most interested in sampling.  I'm always looking for ways to enhance or shape my brows and this was easy enough to use!  This shade is perfect for me, but the product actually comes as a duo with two colors, light and dark, which is easy to blend for the perfect custom color.  I am also in love with the vintage tin packaging- makes me want to buy more of their products because they are adorable!

2.) Hey Honey Open Your Eyes Eye Contour Lifting Fluid
So happy to see a new product from one of my favorite Ipsy brands.  Fortunately I don't have an issue with puffiness around my eyes so I can't comment on that factor, but the product feels nice going on and I also love that this has a few different uses in addition to reducing puffiness and brightening eyes, such as a concealer primer!  If this product isn't for you, I highly recommend their moisturizer and face mask!

3.) City Color Cosmetics Eyeshadow Trio in Falling Leaves
Not going to lie, but I was not looking forward to this...until I saw the pretty shades in person.  All three compliment each other but can be worn on their own.  There are two shimmery shades which I love and one matte shade.  This will make the perfect light smokey eyes look.  I can't wait to try it out for some upcoming spring events.

4.) theBalm Cosmetics Mr. Write Now in Jack B. Bronze
I was not a huge fan of the bronze shade of this eyeliner, especially worn on its own.  It provides a nice pigment, but there wasn't much of a contrast on my skintone.  It also didn't smudge easily, which can be taken as a good or a bad depending on how you use it.  However, I think this would pair nicely with gold eyeshadows.

5.) Lasting Smiles Organic Lip Balm in Peppermint Creme
Lip balm may not be exciting, but this was my favorite product in the bag.  First off, one can never have too many balms!  This was very moisturizing and the mint flavor makes my lips feel so fresh!  Also, the ingredients are organic, which is a bonus.  But the best part, every 1,000 lip balms sold pays for a cleft lip surgery for a child.  I love products with a cause and will definitely get more from Lasting Smiles!

As much as I sometimes get bored of the eyeshadows, I really appreciated this theme and how the products all fit together!   Even the bag joined in the fun with the colorful retro print; it's definitely one of my favorite bag styles so far.  I loved sampling all of these and I'm already looking forward to what's coming next month.

Vera Wang Dress (not available online, but like this) | Vest (really loving this) | Crossbody (not available online) | Flats (old, similar here)

I don't know what it is about long sleeved dresses, but I can't resist them.  I just love them.  I came across this long sleeved Vera Wang dress on a recent visit to Kohls and was instantly drawn to it!  The abstract print is so eye-catching and the style is perfect for work.  In fact, it can be dressed up or down.  I accessorized with lots of black items, but I think I would add a pop of color with the jewelry and shoes next time to brighten it up!

Hope everyone is having a happy Friday.  I'm know I'm excited for a three day weekend to catch up on things!

Of all the makeup products out there, mascara has always been my favorite.  I've tried many mascaras out there, and now have a solid collection of go-tos!  But I'm always looking to try new mascaras.  Today I'm excited to share a review on the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara, which I was able to sample through Influenster and is quickly becoming a favorite!

The mascara is said to offer major volume, and it definitely delivers.  The brush hugs the lashes which helps coat the lashes evenly and prevents spider lashes. And multiple coats easily builds more volume.  I always start at the base of my eyelashes and then slowly wiggle my way to the ends.  Below is a before and after with 2 quick coats.

My lashes are definitely more voluminous after using the mascara!  The brush was also really easy to use which is very important to me (some brushes cause clumping which I don't like.)  The mascara stayed fresh all day and didn't smudge or flake off.  In addition, I loved the packing, which is very sleek and luxurious!  I highly recommend this Marc Jacobs mascara!  Whether you're going simple for an everyday look or looking for glamorous lashes, this mascara is the perfect option.

Ombre Sweater, Enclothe | Jeans, old | BaubleBar Necklace, old

It's officially sweater weather!  It's recently gotten so cold here in Philly, so all the more reason for me to pull out all of my favorite sweaters (and maybe add a few new ones to the collection!)  I've recently come across Enclothe Boutique (stay tuned for a more detailed review on the subscription) and this ombre sweater was one of my picks.

The details on this make it such an interesting piece.  The material on the back is different and I like the subtle mixing of textures.  I also love the purple and gray combo.  The colors and the lightweight feel makes it a great piece to transition into spring.  The best part - it's so flowy and comfortable, and just long enough that I can pair with leggings as well.  This will surely be a staple this winter!

THML Sweater (found same here!)| Jeans, old | Boots, old | Jordana Paige Quinn Bag, on sale!! | BaubleBar Earrings, old

Happy New Year!  I took a much needed break this holiday season and ended up being busier than usual.  But I'm back now and excited to get started with a new year of blogging.  I have some stuff in the works to grow this year and I'm excited what the new year brings, but until then I'm sharing an easy breezy winter outfit!

The great thing about this sweater is it looks great with jeans, but is long enough to wear with leggings.  I paired with jeans and tall boots and am loving this casual winter look.  So comfy and I will definitely be wearing this outfit again!

In other news, who's excited for the Lilly sale tomorrow!  I can't wait to see what's available!
