A few Sundays ago I was invited to spend the morning at Benjamin Lovell Shoes to learn more about the company and try on shoes.  Literally all the shoes!  It was definitely a fashion lovers dream.  But there's much more to trying on shoes, which I learned during my consultation with Dave, the Store Manager at Ben Lovell!
The first part of the morning (after my initial gawking at all the amazing footwear) was to get my foot measured.  This is a crucial fitting that most people never get done.  A proper fitting means selecting shoes that fit your feet snugly and could potentially reduce pain!  I admit that I sometimes tend to purchase shoes, especially boots, a half size bigger and that's a big no-no (when shoes don't fit, your feet overcompensate for all the shifting.)  I also learned that many people have feet that are two different sizes, myself included, but in most cases it doesn't affect purchasing shoes.
The other part of the consultation was chatting about what kind of shoes I was looking for, preferences, etc.  I kept my mind open and my only request was to find booties for fall.   All customers who shop at Benjamin Lovell Shoes receive the same customer service and attention to detail.

But let's get to the fun stuff...trying on shoes and highlighting some must-have fall trends!

1.) Black Leather Booties
There's no question about it, black booties are a wardrobe staple that aren't going anywhere!  Luckily there was no shortage at Benjamin Lovell!  I tried on a few pairs that I loved, especially from the brand Pikolinos (they had the most luxurious buttery soft leathers!)

One trend that I'm really loving is metallic detailing.  Those booties at the end were the most glorious shimmery pair and had a really comfy heel (double win!)

2.) Wedges + Combat Boots
Wedges and combat boots are both styles that I don't have in my closet.  Spoiler alert, I reluctantly left the olive cuties behind, but I have a new found appreciation for combat boots.  One great thing about Benjamin Lovell, and my consultation with Dave was that he brought out styles for me to try that I normally wouldn't look twice at.  I will definitely be adding a pair of combat boots for the fall/winter season!

3.) Prints + Color
If you know me, colors and prints are my thing.  My eyes were immediately drawn to the animal print booties seen up above.  They add such a fun pop of color to any outfit.  I also saw these velvet sneaks before leaving the store and fell in love with the color!

Online must haves here and here.

So naturally, after trying on shoes, I still decided on this colorful pair!
Many of the brands carried by Benjamin Lovell are premium European brands made with quality materials and will hold up for a LONG time.  If you're looking to purchase a good quality pair of shoes, I would suggest picking a classic piece that will get a lot of wear.  The store has more of a selection and is worth the visit if you're in the Philly area!

When it comes to booties, do you prefer trendy colors/prints or classic looks?  Let me know if the comments!

A huge thank you to Benjamin Lovell Shoes for my consultation and shoes.  All opinions shared above are my own.
