May 2015 - Paint The Town Chic

One of the hottest trends this summer is palm prints, which I am loving for a few reasons.  First off, how gorgeous are these prints!  Second, while palm prints are being found in all colors, I'm particularly taken with the green color ways.  I don't have much green in my wardrobe and I'm so excited to add some of these to my wardrobe.  And palm trees just remind me of summer and tropical places, which are all good things!

I snagged this Potter's Pot leaf dress from Golden Tote last month.  The colors and detailing are beautiful.  I will be styling this dress here shortly, but in the meantime it does look like it's still available in all sizes!  I recommend sizing up as this runs small.

I also highly recommend the Eva Mendes collection.  Every piece I own is so beautiful and her collections are always on trend.  I haven't tried this particular dress on, but find her sizing to run big.  And I will definitely be getting something in the palm print from Old Navy.

You can't go wrong with any of these pieces.  Palm prints are a must have!  What are you favorites?

Yellow Dress, old (love this and this) | Pom Pom Scarf | Lilly for Target Sandals (sold out, but you may find on resale pages or eBay!)

The gorgeous weather inspired me to pull out one of my favorite bright dresses.  Yellow has quickly been one of my go to colors to wear, and this particular dress which I found at Kohls' last year has such pretty details.  For those who don't like white, yellow is a great alternative for the summer.

My favorite part about this outfit is the gorgeous pom pom scarf!  I found it at Charming Charlie and fell in love.  (Warning, if you've never stopped in a Charming Charlie, you won't leave empty handed.   They have an amazing collection of accessories!)  Even better-the scarf was less than $15!  Such a bargain and I can't wait to go back and pick up a few more colorful staples.

These Lilly for Target sandals are so cute (who doesn't love pineapple details!) but I definitely recommend sizing up if you find a pair!  Now it's time for a fresh pedi...

Dress, Golden Tote (sold out on the GT site, but will be on the lookout for it)| Nine West Heels, old (loving this version for the summer!) | Old Navy Necklace, old | Chloe + Isabel Bracelet Retro Glam Bracelet

Lately I've been on the lookout for black dresses that aren't boring.  I found just the dress with Golden Tote last month (check out this review for an overview on my most recent tote!)  Not only does this batik dress create interest with the print mixing, the fabric makes it comfortable to wear during this heat wave that's happening now!  But I can also pair this with a chunky sweater and boots for the fall!  I got this dress for work, but I would definitely wear it for a night out as well! So many wins for this pick!

As much as I love wearing black, I had to add a pop of color to my outfit!  Luckily that was easy to do with accessorizing!  I couldn't resist a touch of hot pink with the bag and shoes!

Also, just a note that it really was 90 degrees and nothing I tried tamed the frizzy do!  I guess it's time to keep the hair up to minimize the damage!

ShopBellaC Maxi (love this printed dress and this blue ruffle maxi) | Perry Street Tassel Earrings c/o Rocksbox | Bracelets, Kohls & Chloe + Isabel

After taking a quick break to enjoy the long weekend, I'm back to blogging!  Now that the summer has pretty much kicked off, we're all looking forward to heading to the beach.  Just because I'm not close to the beach doesn't mean that I can't bring a bit of sand and surf inspiration to my wardrobe.  The blue and purple hues on this dress are just perfect for summer.  Aside from the beautiful print, I'm loving the ruffle neckline!  It adds a pretty detail without making the dress feel so busy!

Aside from my obsession with dresses, my newest love is Rocksbox.  These tassel gems arrived in my latest set, and I can't stop wearing them.  This set definitely has some beachy vibes as well.  Check out Instagram for a peek or stop back to read the review!

Memorial Day weekend might mean the unofficial start of summer, but also brings with it many great sales.  One that I may have already partaken in was the Lilly Pulitzer gift with purchase sale (which happens only a few times a year!)  How cute are these gifts?
I really wanted that adorable starfish bracelet, so I selected the Tabbie Tank in Red Right Return (the print seen in the gifts above) to purchase.  It's sure to be one of the most popular prints of the season, so grab something in it now if you really want it.  This is my first Lilly tank, so I'm excited to get it and style it.   It was hard to not select more pieces, but I'm saving for both the Warehouse Sale in June and the online summer sale in August!  But I am sharing a few of the items still on my wishlist!

The spring and summer prints are some of the best I've seen so far!  What are your favorites from the collection?

RedDressBoutique Boho Dress (available online here at ShopRuche, but also love this and this ruffle hemmed dress!) | Back Booties, old

As soon as I saw this printed boho dress, I knew I needed to have it.  I don't know what I love more, the beaded neckline or the ruffle hem.  I quickly got over the hi-low hemline phase a few years ago, but the subtlety of this hem adds a touch of sweetness to the dress!  Some ladies may worry about the boxy shape, but I really like the loose fit of the dress for the warm weather!   I love the print as well (clearly I'm not getting over this boho phase!)  I'm still looking for the perfect denim vest that would pair perfectly with this dress.  Everyone needs this style for the summer!

Old Navy striped tank, old (love this tank in the fuchsia color) | Eyelet pencil skirt, old (love this) | Piper Boutique necklace, old | The Ropes Maine bracelet (love this version)

Sometimes typical office attire can be boring.  I'm always looking for ways to brighten up a daily look without looking too casual or unprofessional.  And then comes one of my new favorite trends-neon!   I love neon makeup, jewelry, clothes, everything!  But how can neon ever be professional?  I've had this Old Navy tank for a while now, and figured that would be a start!  I paired it with this eyelet navy pencil skirt for a fresh, spring twist.  Pink and navy is one of my favorite color combos so it was perfect without being too bright!

It's been a busy few weeks (hence the lack of continuous posts) but I'm definitely looking forward to the upcoming long weekend and lots of catchup!  Hope you're having a great start to the week!

After a few month hiatus, I just couldn't resist getting a Golden Tote for April.  It was the first month in a while that there were multiple items I really wanted, and the surprises were looking promising too!  If you want to learn more about Golden Tote, check out these reviews from May, June and December of last year!

Potter's Pot Leaf It To Me Dress
This is my first chosen item.  I feel in love with the tropical print after seeing the spoilers. earlier in April and knew this dress would be mine.  I sized up as this brand tends to run small.  This print is stunning and I can't wait to wear this!

Black Batik Dress
This is one of my favorite Golden Tote items ever!  I needed another black dress for work, but I didn't want anything boring.  The pattern mixing keeps the dress interesting, and the light airy fabric makes it perfect for the heat waves that are sure to come.

Blu Pepper Crochet Tunic/Dress
This adorable tunic fit like a dress on me!  I liked the print and the details, but I didn't fall in love with it.  Luckily, there were a few ladies on the Golden Tote Trading Group looking for this tunic, so I sent it off to a new loving home!

Ellison Tunic
This tunic is so pretty in person.  I love the detailing and the asymmetrical hem.  While it is very see through (my only issue with the tunic) I think this will make the perfect beach coverup.  If it wasn't so sheer, I would wear it now, but I'm not a fan of layering when it comes to sheerness!

Miss Love Yellow Tank
This tank sure is bright!  At first glance, I wasn't a big fan because the shade of yellow is so overwhelming!  But with the right accessories, this will be great for the summer.  I love the sheer panel detail in the back!

Kika Paprika Skirt
This was my favorite surprise item this month!  I was intrigued by this very print when a spoiler of various April surprises was shared, not knowing this was the surprise!  It's so comfy, has pockets, and a darling print! Since I couldn't wait to wear this skirt, check out this review to see more!

Flamingo Infinity Scarf
Since I'm obsessed with flamingos, I just had to add on this cute infinity scarf.  It was my first accessory from the boutique.  I'm sad I missed out on the equally cute whale scarf, which I'm still on the lookout for!

Final Verdict?
This tote styled by KB fit my personality and style profile better than any others I've received!  I asked for dresses, prints and bright colors.  Got everything I asked for.  I liked all of my pieces, though I loved more items than others.  Everything fit me as well, which was great.

Stay tuned as I style more April GT pieces throughout the coming month!  If you're interested in trying out Golden Tote, the May tote just went on sale today, so go check it out!
