October 2016 | Paint The Town Chic
Paint The Town Chic turned 2 this month!  However, I always think of my blogging journey as having two birthdays; I started blogging in March of 2014 and by October, I knew I wanted to stick with it, so that's when my blog name Paint The Town Chic was born.  So now, here we are...I wanted to take this post to share what I've learned in the past few years and some of my favorite parts of blogging!

1.) Have Fun
As much as I would love blogging to be my full time job, I'm not at a place for that to happen right now.  So instead of seeing this as a stressful commitment, I use blogging as a creative outlet to share my passion for fashion.  After a long day of work, I don't beat myself up if I can't get a post up.  I'd rather take my time and be proud of what I post!  That brings me to . . .

2.) Be Consistent
Even though blogging is not my job, it is still a commitment to keep up with.  I like to post at least twice a week, though I plan on having a stricter schedule for 2017.  I also try to post often on Instagram and am working on improving my Twitter skills!  However if life gets in the way, I may skip posting for a day here and there and have learned to be ok with that.

Amanda and I

3.) Network
This has been one of my favorite parts of blogging so far.  I've met so many lovely ladies through blogging.  This summer I even got to meet Amanda from Enchanting Elegance and we had such a fun day of shopping and sightseeing in Philly!  I definitely plan on reaching out and connecting with more bloggers next year.

4.) Join Local Blogger Groups
This has been a newer endeavor for me, but I've had such an amazing time connecting with local bloggers through PHL Bloggers.  I've met some very talented ladies and have had a great time checking out local businesses and events with them.  I also collaborated with Julia from Philly With A Fjallraven to get some photos for a really fun photo shoot!  I'm also very excited to be helping with the 2017 PHL Bloggers Conference, but more on that later!

5.) Collaborations + Partnerships
I've had some amazing collaborations over the past year.  Working with companies has helped keep the blog going and I've made some friends through this.  One partnership that really stands out is with Enclothe Boutique.  Gabrielle, the owner, has a great concept and really picks some adorable and trendy pieces.  I hope to cultivate more partnerships like this in my next year of blogging!

What's Next?
So what's next you ask?  Well, I'm thrilled to finally reveal my new look for the blog as well as a new logo designed by my friend Chels from Cricket Lane Studios.  While I was hoping to reveal it this month-work got in the way so check back in November!  I also plan on investing in a good camera as well as partner with some local photographers to take my images to the next level.  I can't wait to see what else Year Three will bring!

Thanks so much for following along and I look forward to a new chapter for Paint The Town Chic!

Enclothe Boutique Embroidered Blouse, sold out c/o | Lauren Conrad Pleather Leggings, old | Kohls So Riding Boots in Stone | Crossbody, old | Jewels, old

When I first laid eyes on this top, it was love at first sight.  It's no wonder that it sold out quickly on the Enclothe Boutique website.  Shades of Rust, or Pumpkin Spice, are high on my fall to-wear list and this definitely satisfies my need to wear orange!  I love the peplum hem, the longer length which makes it perfect for leggings, and of course the embroidery detail!  I decided to pair it with some of my favorite fall shades, including mustard and navy!  Have I mentioned how much I love all the fall shades?

If you're loving rust too, Enclothe Boutique has a few other tops currently available here, here, here and especially loving this!

Enclothe Boutique Updates

I'm sure you've noticed the new Enclothe website - so much easier to use, right?  I wanted to share a few highlights about the recent changes and the new website,

  • Enclothe Boutique still allows you to select the items you want through bundle pricing; the more items you get, the bigger the discount!
  • The boutique now separates items so it's easier to search (i.e. you can search for dresses, tops, etc.)
  • Purchase 2-3 items for 10% off; purchase 4 or more items for 20% off!  The website will automatically deduct the discount as you add items.
  • New items are available every other Friday at Noon PST.  Sneak peeks with sizing info is posted on Facebook prior to the sale.
  • Don't forget the final sale items.  There are so many great deals right now!
That was a quick overview on what's new; you can view more details here.  Feel free to ask any questions below as well and happy shopping ;)

Kohl Long-Sleeved Tee | Kohls Elle White Denim, old | Enclothe Boutique Vest, old | Lilly Pulitzer Murfee, old (current scarf collection here) | Boots, old | Clutch, old | Chloe + Isabel Portico Post Drop Earrings, (also love these from the same line)

Who says you have to stop wearing white after Labor Day!  I love the crisp, clean look of winter whites.  The other trend I'm still loving is vests.  I snagged this vest early this year, but I know it'll be getting a lot more use over the next few months.  It looks so cute over dresses as well as denim!

Of course even the most perfect white palette requires a pop of color.  The accessorizing was pretty simple, and I kept to a gray and blues theme.  I also took the opportunity to add one of my favorite Lilly Pulitzer Murfee scarves (this is the Sagittarius print!) This is one of my go to prints for fall/winter because of the dark background.

Over the next few days, I'll be sharing a new look for the blog so bear with me during this transition!  I'll also be sharing a special 2 year blogiversary post as well-I can't believe it's been that long!  Thank you all for following along on this journey!

Enclothe Boutique Floral Tunic, no longer available | Enclothe Boutique Lace Kimono, no longer available | Skivvy Style Booties, same here | RSA Studios Earrings, c/o | BaubleBar Necklace

Fall florals are my favorite.  This burgundy tunic caught my eye immediately-the colors of the print are just so pretty and burgundy is a great fall shade.  This comfy piece also has the cutest ruffle hem.  I was able to style this during our unexpected warm spell, but this will look great with leggings now that the cold weather has finally arrived.  And this lace poncho is everything.  The details are gorgeous and I haven't seen anything like this at other boutiques.  I can't wait to wear the poncho with jeans later this season.  I've been holding onto these pieces from Enclothe Boutique, and I can say they are my favorite purchase yet!  They aren't available any longer, but Gabrielle, the owner of Enclothe, always manages to find the cutest items.  I highly recommend joining the Enclothe Boutique Facebook Page for first dibs on these great items!

I kept the baubles pretty simple.  I'm really loving the pieces I've gotten from RSA Studios.  These leather beauties sure make a statement, and I liked how the the red matched the flowers on this dress.  It looks so pretty with the darker burgundy too!  The necklace was one of the bonus baubles BaubleBar occasionally offers and I've been wearing it on repeat.  It's so simple, but I'm really into longer pendants these days.

eShakti Wrap Dress c/o (check out other colors and prints here) | Clutch, old | ZooShoo Mary Janes | Chloe + Isabel Bracelet | While Odin Sleeps Necklace, old

The wrap dress is a classic piece that every woman should own.  The feminine and figure flattering shape make this a great piece for all body types.  This eShakti number takes the wrap dress one step further with this gorgeous high-low hemline.  I've mentioned before that high-low and asymmetrical hems lengthen legs and make them look slimmer, so I'm a fan.  I decided to pair it with my new strappy Mary Janes, but I will definitely style the dress with OKT books or my leopard heels in the future.  I'm also obsessed with this rich plum shade; it's one of my must have colors for fall.

What I love about eShakti is the ability to customize anything.  If you click on the link to the dress, you can see that the sleeves are actually elbow length.  When I saw the option to customize my sleeves to be longer, I didn't think twice (I love full sleeved dresses!)  Other customization options included changing the length of the skirt and removing the pockets.  This petite girl was thrilled with the ability to put in my height, ensuring that the dress would fit me perfectly.

If you haven't ordered from eShakti before, I highly recommend it.  My eShakti collection is slowly growing and I know this won't be my last order!  They have a great selection of items and they are well made.  eShakti has kindly offered a discount for my readers!

Exfolimate Tool c/o
Other skincare must-haves: StriVectin Pore Refiner (see review here) | Befine Exfoliating Cleanser

Today I'm sharing a new tool that will make a huge difference in your daily skincare routine.  I'm always looking to try the newest in skincare technology, especially when the seasons change!  When I heard about Exfolimate, I knew I had give it a try, even though the thought of using a blade on my face was a little scary at first!

Benefits of Exfolimate
  • Exfoliates by removing dead cells on the surface of skin
  • Gets rid of blackheads, clogged pores, oils and makeup
  • Easily reaches small crevices in the face as well as large areas of skin
  • Provides a clean base for makeup application
  • Chemical free and hygienic
  • Easy to clean
  • Lasts 12 months

I used this in the shower after letting the warm water run over my skin for a few minutes.  I gently moved the blade across the face at a ninety degree angle in small sections, separating the forehead, cheeks and chin areas (the user guide included with the tool has a helpful diagram for sectioning!)  I did follow up by using a gentle cleanser, though it's not necessary.  After towel drying my face, I finished up by applying moisturizer.

The tool comes with a hanging cord which helps with controlling Exfolimate in the shower (so no fears of dropping it) and also provides a way to store in the shower.

I was so impressed with the results of Exfolimate, especially after only one use.  My skin felt much cleaner and there was a visible reduction in blackheads.   The product is supposed to provide even better results over extended use, so I have high hopes!  Exfolimate can be found at stores like Target, Walgreens, and even Amazon.  I highly recommend adding this tool to your skincare routine!

I received a complimentary Exfolimate tool in exchange for an honest review.  All opinions shared above are my own.
