There are many products that I will try at least once, but I will always put my put my foot down on 2-in-1 products.  No thank you!  So obviously when I heard about cleansing conditioners I was skeptical to give them a try.  However after I read more about them, I was willing to give them a chance.

What is a cleansing conditioner you ask? It's a conditioner that contains cleansing ingredients minus the chemicals and sulfates that a 2-in-1 product has.  Essentially it cuts down your hair care routine without sacrificing results.

Why Should You Use A Cleansing Conditioner?

  • If you have curly or wavy hair because it doesn't strip natural oils from the hair.
  • You wash your hair daily and are looking for a gentle cleansing product.
  • You use heat styling products (I found it easier to straighten my hair after using this.)
  • You don't want the chemicals, sulfates and all the bad ingredients in traditional hair products.
  • You want a simple, no-fuss shower routine.
I typically wash my hair 2-3 times a week, and I've been using this for about a month.  I do find that I use more product than before (but keep in mind that this is both shampoo and conditioner.)  Sometimes I wash twice depending on if I used a lot of styling products or if it's been longer between washes.

If you're wondering what my hair looked like, well here is it.  I used minimal styling products, but my hair was less frizzy and felt healthy and shiny - all things I look for.
Now that you know more about cleansing conditioners, let's talk about UnWash.  I really enjoyed their Bio Cleansing Conditioner.  As mentioned, it left my hair feeling soft and shiny.  I don't have worry about this stripping my color since it is sulfate free.  And not to mention the wonderful light, clean scent!  I also loved their sleek packaging and bottle shape.

The verdict?  As with all good things, patience is key to achieving results.  I've been using this for less than a month and still find my roots to be somewhat oily and I don't get that clean feeling as I do with a traditional shampoo and conditioner combo.  In general, it takes a few weeks for hair to get used to a change, especially one so drastic as this.  I'm willing to continue using it as the reviews I've read really praise this for curly hair, but I want to incorporate a scalp cleansing product once a week for more of a deep clean.  I will be sharing more about the importance of scalp care soon, stay tuned.

If you're looking to incorporate this into your haircare routine, I suggest gradually introducing this and using this routine once a week.

Would you trying a cleansing conditioner?
