Paint The Town Chic

Cardigan: New York & Company, old | Dress: Lesley Evers | Pumps: Guess, old |
Earrings: Old Navy | Bracelets: Glamorously Refined Boutique, Kohl's

Summer decided to make one last appearance today.  A hot and muggy day called for a colorful dress, especially a dress that I got at the Lesley Evers online warehouse sale a few months ago.  This shift dress is so flattering and I just love the print-it has a slightly retro feel.  It's a great shape for work and I love the split neckline detail.  I paired with a yellow sweater because of the weather, but I would pair with a blazer to bring it into fall.  I hope there will be another sale soon because there was such a great selection of items to choose from.

All of the accessories I have on are old, but I highly recommend Old Navy and Kohls if you're looking for some new jewelry!   Also want to make a shout out to Urban Decay's Perversion Mascara-stay tuned for my August Ipsy Bag review to find out more about it!

I've stepped up my mascara game by trying Younique Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes.  There's been a lot of buzz, so I wanted to see what everyone was raving about!  I've shared my love of mascara in other posts, so this entry is dedicated to my eye routine and my first experience with Younique!

 Products Used

Lashes without product

My routine is typically two parts-and starts with a primer.  I've been using Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum and love it.  I start with a coat of primer and wait for it to dry.  Then I apply 1-2 coats of my favorite mascara.  For this post I used Benefit's They're Real! Mascara which i love for special occasions, but my everyday go to is Maybelline Falsies.

Lashes with Primer

Once you've applied your regular mascara and it's dry, you apply the Transplanting Gel and before the Gel is dry, apply the Natural Fibers to the lashes.  Then seal the Fibers with another coat of the Gel!  You can repeat this process as many times as you want.  I only went with 1 coat because I couldn't separate my lashes - this is where  have to add a lash comb!  Brittany also gave some great tips on enhancing lashes without looking clumpy, like focusing on the tips of eyelashes!

Lashes with 1 coat of Younique 3D Lashes

Overall, I really like what the 3D lashes can do!  They were definitely more full and defined with the 3D Fibers, though it may not show so much in the photos.  I need to perfect the application technique, and get a lash comb to separate my lashes in between applications, but other than that it's pretty easy to use.  I don't really like using fake lashes so this will be a great alternative for special occasions (just too much effort for my everyday work routine!)  Not only does it provide fantastic results, but it washes right off with water.  Be warned that the product will come off in clumps, but my lashes were fine!  Can't wait to use the mascara again.

You can definitely see a difference!  I love it!

Dress: Old Navy, old (similar here and here)| Murfee Scarf: Lilly Pulitzer, old (not a murfee, but this is my favorite Lilly scarf right now) | Sandals: Charlotte Russe (also comes in black!)

It's no surprise that today's outfit revolved around these shoes - one of my Labor Day sale buys!  I've been wanting a pair of gladiator sandals for a while, so it was hard to resist the price.  The weather is quickly shifting here so I wanted to test them out quickly.  I thought they would make a darker color pop, so green it was!  They are pretty comfy, even though I still have to break them in.  I can't wait to pair these with boyfriend jeans and a white tee...so many possibilities with these.

I  also wanted to keep my jewelry minimal, and I found these pretty quartz rings during a recent trip to Mammoth Caves in Kentucky, which is an amazing place!  They are nice on their own, but are fun to layer for more of a statement piece.

Nothing says fall like darker hues, and one of my favorites this season is gray!  Here are some of my favorite pieces for the fall! The clothing picks are all comfy and warm weather friendly.  The shoes are a great transition to boots and booties.  And you can't forget the accessories-I love pearls in all colors and gray nail polish is so flattering!

Dress: Collective Concepts from Golden Tote (currently sold out) | Sweater: old (love this) | Booties: old (love this and this) | Earrings: Chloe + Isabel

In previous posts, you may have read about my love of Golden Tote clothes.  I've taken a hiatus from buying totes the last 2 months, but a few of the pieces have really caught my eye.  One dress that I absolutely needed was the Summer to Fall Dress seen above.  In fact, the whole outfit (the dress was styled with a fringe kimono) was love at first sight, but I was able to purchase the dress from the GT Trading Group!   I'm now on a quest to find that Kimono...

This dress is a great transition piece.  For the summer, you can wear with sandals or wedges, but I'm excited to pair them with booties, or even with some cobalt pumps and a blazer for a more professional look!  Love the print and the colors (and I'm not a fan of orange at all!)  There are more fall fashions coming this Monday as the September Golden Tote launches!  Will you be joining in the fun and getting a tote?
