2015 - Paint The Town Chic
Top (sold out online, similar here) | Skirt, old (love this) | Boots (sold out online) | Necklace, old | Ring, Rocksbox | Clutch, old (love this)

I wanted to put together a holiday look that was both edgy and feminine at the same time, and I think this definitely fits the bill.  Nothing screams Christmas more than a red plaid button down, and it was the perfect compliment to this lace pencil skirt that's a favorite in my closet!  This is one of my new favorite pattern mixing outfits and I will definitely be pairing plaid and lace together again!

These boots are from Charlotte Russe and I'm obsessed with them.  They are so comfy and stylish, and the prices there are so reasonable!  I recommend checking them out for trendy items.

I'm back to share a new skincare product that is a must have in any beauty collection.  I recently sampled StriVectin's Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner and I'm absolutely loving it!  I have large pores and blackheads on my t-zone and cheeks that are somewhat bothersome, so I'm always looking for ways to minimize them.

Even after one use, I could see immediate results in minimizing my pores and evening my skin.  It also seemed to lighten the blackheads.  The lotion absorbed quickly and evenly onto my skin, which made it a great primer for makeup.  There were even some instances where I didn't use foundation after applying this.  I have combination skin, so over the course of the day, my face starts to get shiny, but this Pore Refiner reduced the need for touch ups.  The scent was light and smelled nice.

Reasons to Use StriVectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner
1. It minimizes pores (results are best after extended use!)
2. Makes a great primer under makeup because it smoothes and evens out skin!
3. Serves as an anti-aging moisturizer!  It's never too early to take care of your skin.
4. Gentle enough to use everyday!
5. Eliminates the need for multiple skincare products!

The StriVectin Pore Refiner is gentle enough to use twice daily and is best used as the last step in your makeup routine.  It is a little pricier than other products out there, but the benefits are well worth the price.  I highly recommend this to anyone and look forward to trying other StriVectin products.

I'm sure we all have our favorite hair care products, but sometimes a product comes around that you just have to try.  For me that was Keranique's Clean and Condition set, which promised to increase volume and reduce thinning hair.

Scalp Stimulating Shampoo
The first step in the Keranique Volumizing set is this Scalp Stimulating Shampoo.  It's used like any other-apply to wet hair, from the scalp down to the ends.  My favorite part is that it actually felt cool and refreshing on my scalp!

Volumizing Keratin Conditioner
The next step is to use the Keratin Conditioner.  Even while applying the conditioner, my hair felt weightless and lighter.  I hate products that feel heavy and leave a filmy layer even after washing.  I left on for the recommended 1-2 minutes.

Overall I could see results from using both the shampoo and the conditioner.  My hair was less frizzy and more defined, but I can't comment on the thickening aspect (my hair isn't that thin to begin with.)  I also loved the luxurious packaging (minor detail but makes a difference to me!)  However I didn't like the scent; both products smelled somewhat medicinal/herbal and I'm just not a fan.  For me to continue using hair products, they have to smell good.

From browsing on the website, it looks like there are some styling products to use along with this set.  I probably wouldn't purchase this again only because the product isn't specifically made for my hair type and the scent turned me off-but I would recommend to those with thinner hair!

Coated Leggings (Less than $15!) | Pleated Tank | Moto Jacket, old | Necklace | Booties, old | Pacifica Lipstick in Sweet One

Happy Friday Dolls!  Today I wanted to share one of my new favorite pieces.  As a lover of leggings, I've been looking to expand beyond my typical black pairs.  When I came across these Lauren Conrad coated leggings, I knew I had to give them a try.  The shine makes it appear like leather, but they are so comfy and stretchy (which is a huge plus!)  They are a perfect option for New Years and are on major sale right now.

Also, I'm obsessed with critter prints, in case you can't tell.  I'm loving this fox print tank-it's whimsical but still perfect to wear to work.  I just love the pleated detailing.  The tank is so flattering and comes in two other options.

Finally I have to highlight the Pacifica lipstick I'm wearing.  It was part of my December Ipsy bag and I'm really loving it.  I received the Sweet One and it's a great nude shade that I can wear everyday and was fairly long lasting too.

Blue Booties (also love these suede options!) | Spanx Moto Leggings (similar here) | Autumn Olive Boutique Tunic (old, but I love everything in this boutique!) | BaubleBar Earrings, old

Today I'm sharing a quick midweek post because I have to share my new favorite (and very comfortable) booties!  I'm a total boot wearer for the majority of the year, and this year I was looking for something other than the typical black/brown/gray options that fill my closet.  When I saw these navy boots online, I had to check them out.  The dark shade is perfect pop of color for winter without being too bright and the low heel makes this a great everyday option.  Unfortunately this shade has limited sizes online, but may be available in store.

And my other favorite discovery...who knew that Spanx made leggings?  They are the most comfortable leggings I own and I love that they are so flattering on.  This pair was a lucky find on the sale racks, but I tagged a smilier option above.  I highly recommend these leggings and I will definitely be getting more!

Tunic Dress | Blanket Scarf (less than $15!) | Boots (comes in 3 colors!) | Bag, old

Even though it doesn't feel like winter at all, I've been stocking up on winter essentials.  This tunic dress is one of the most comfortable dresses I have in my closet.  I've been wearing it nonstop.  The styling possibilities are endless!   This time I decided to dress it down with the scarf and boots, but the dress is perfect with patterned leggings as well!

I have quite a few plaid scarves, but I've been wanting a blanket scarf and decided to grab one during the Black Friday sales.  At less than $15, it was hard to resist.  I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality and warmth of this scarf.  There are quite a few colors to choose from too so I may have to get some others.  Definitely recommend this scarf!

Hope you have a great week!

Esley Owl Skirt, from Moxie Style | White Tee | Fur Vest | Booties, old | Golden Tote Crossbody

I'm finally back with some new posts.  It's been a crazy busy few weeks, but I'm excited to catch up on some long awaited posts.  Today and I'm sharing a fun skirt that I scored from Moxie Style (one of my favorite online boutiques/subscriptions.)  I love whimsical critter prints, especially this owl print skirt.  I also like that it's a pleated chiffon fabric!

Long sleeved tees are a staple for any winter wardrobe.  This particular tee is from Kohls and comes in a variety of colors!  I love these because they are so comfortable and can be dressed up or down! I threw on the the fur vest (yes, I'm a little obsessed with it and can't stop wearing it!) to dress it up.  These are also a great price, so it's easy to stock up now!

Lastly, I'm obsessed with this cross body I recently snagged from Golden Tote final sale.  I'd been eyeing it for a while, and it was only $10 so I couldn't resist.  I really love the round shape; I don't have anything like this in my closet!  It's definitely worth keeping an eye on Golden Tote's sale section!

Winter brings with it a lot of great things - endless cups of hot chocolate, comfy layers, and the holidays.  But the cold weather also creates uncomfortable skin conditions like dry and itchy skin.  Aveeno is one of my favorite skincare brands that treats dry skin and I was so excited to sample some of the products in the Skin Relief Line!
Aveeno Skin Relief Gentle Scent Body Wash
This season, I'm always looking for products to help with dry and itchy skin.  I am sometimes guilty of not using lotion every day, so this Aveeno Skin Relief Bodywash has been a welcome addition to my skincare routine.  As soon as I tried this, my skin felt moisturized and less itchy for a good portion of the day.  The light coconut scent was also nice, and a reminder that summer will be back soon!

Avenue Skin Relief Gentle Scent Lotion
Of course I had to try this lotion immediately after showering with the body wash, so my skin was very happy!  It's great used on its own as well.  This lotion is not greasy, so it can be used in any occasion.  I apply this before I go to bed - it's extra moisturizing without leaving a strong overpowering scent.  I definitely want to keep a bottle at work as well.

I think the magical ingredient is the oatmeal!  It's a natural item that makes a huge difference and doesn't leave any harsh effects (perfect for sensitive skin!)  It looks like there is another scent available if coconut is not your thing.  I definitely recommend this line to anyone!

Sweater, Golden Tote Surprise | Old Navy Jeans, old | Charlotte Russe flats (not available online, but love this and this) | Scarf, old

I can't believe it's already December.  This is definitely my favorite time of year and I especially love the comfy clothing.  This sweater was another surprise from my November Golden Tote order (I promise, a review of the entire tote is coming soon!)  It's boxy and oversized, but there is something about it that is very appealing.  I love the the gray and white print!  What's even better, the back is slightly longer, making it acceptable to wear with leggings!

Since the print on the sweater is so subtle, I figured it was a good candidate for some print mixing.  This cozy winter scarf has the same color palette so they paired nicely.  I will have to check out my scarf collection and find some other prints to try out.

I really love these flats, which I snagged on sale from Charlotte Russe.  There is a nude shade that looks to still be available, but keep in mind that they aren't the most comfortable!  Maybe I just have to wear them in more.

Victoria's Secret sweater, old | Charlotte Russe Vest (black not available, but love this and this) | Renee C Skirt, Golden Tote surprise | Crossbody, old | Charlotte Russe Boots

This holiday look revolved around the midi skirt I received as a surprise in my November Golden Tote (a full review will be coming soon!)  When I first pulled this skirt out, I couldn't see it as a winter item.  But I kept going back to it and challenged myself to winterize it.  It has such a pretty pattern and the reds make it a great holiday option.  I paired the skirt with sweater in a brighter red, which is in the pattern. It's actually grown on me and is now one of my favorites!  I will definitely be wearing this to one of my upcoming holiday events!

I like this skirt paired with the tall boots.  It's a little more casual, so I would pair this with black pumps for a dressier occasion!  And the fur vest just adds that special touch to any look!
