April 2015 | Paint The Town Chic
You may have seen Rocksbox come up on your social media and wondered what it was all about.  I had the opportunity to find out for myself by becoming a Rocksbox It Girl and I'm excited to share my experience with you!  My first Rocksbox set arrived (3 gorgeous pieces), was enjoyed over a week and was recently sent back in anticipation for my next set.  Yup, it's that easy!

Want to give Rocksbox a try?  Use code paintthetownchicxoxo for your first month free!!

Here are some examples of how I styled my pieces!

Kendra Scott Druzy Earrings
At first I was hesitant to wear these druzy earrings (I was hoping for bigger earrings), but I ended up wearing these almost the entire time I had my box.  Kendra Scott can do no wrong.  I hope I get other KS pieces in future boxes!

Perry Street Layla Necklace
I wishlisted this necklace and was pleasantly surprised to find it in my set!  It's smaller than the typical statement jewels I wear, but the gorgeous pastel colors are perfect for spring.  I was very close to purchasing this, but I think I spent a bit too much this month so I held off!

Gorjana Taner Bar Necklace
This is the piece that I didn't love!  It's a beautiful necklace, and I love simple jewels, but I really had no interest in this.  It's a great layering piece, and added a bit of sparkle to this outfit since I keep the scarf open.

You can keep each set as long as you'd like.  And if there's a piece you can't part with, you can purchase it!  In addition to trying new baubles without spending the big bucks, I love the surprise aspect with the curation.  You never know what you'll get...

I couldn't wait and snuck a peek at my upcoming set.  A new stylist for set 2 really understood my love of color and statement pieces and curated a set that is 100% me.  Follow along on Instagram and you'll see the set as soon as it gets in!

From the moment I opened up the Ipsy's pink packaging, I was hooked.  This is definitely the best bag I've received (both products wise and the actually clutch itself-double win!)  Let's get to the actual products!

1.) Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum
After discovering Hey Honey (through Ipsy a few months ago) I've been hooked!  These products are amazing!  The serum can be used alone or with your normal day cream.  I used it alone and loved how light it felt as well as how moisturized my face felt!  I'm still recovering from the dry skin of winter, but don't want to use heavy products.  The serum also smells great!  This was my favorite sample and I would definitely buy this again!

2.) theBalm Cosmetics Nude Dude Eyeshadow in Fit
I'm a sucker for cute packaging, and theBalm Cosmetics definitely has that!  I received a gorgeous bronze shade which is part of the Nude Dude palate.  The eyeshadow provided great coverage that can be built up, so it makes a great everyday shade.  The whole palette seems like a great great value if you're looking for a neutrals palette!

3.) Starlooks Satin Finish Lipgloss in Cuddle
This is a nice neutral lip gloss, but is very sticky.  The second time I used it, I layered it over a lip balm and that eliminated the sticky feeling.  Not a bad product, but I'm tired of natural shades and looking forward to some color in my next bag!

4.) Aromachology Sophisticated & Sensual Rollerball
I loved getting a perfume sample in my bag; even better that it's a rollerball that I can throw in my bag and use more than once!  It has some nice floral notes, and while I probably won't purchase this particular scent again (a little too sweet for me) I can't complain about receiving it in my bag!  The company does offer the opportunity to create your own scent, so that looks intriguing!

5.) JulieG Nail Color in Damsel
This wasn't a terrible nail polish but not my favorite either.  It was a beautiful color but I prefer Zoya polishes to any other brand.  It did chip before hitting the one week mark.  They have a great selection of colors

Overall, this was my favorite month for Ipsy!  This bag makes up for the few so-so products.  If you're on the fence about trying it out, I definitely recommend it as a cheap way to try so many new beauty products!

H&M Floral Shirt, old | Striped dress, old | Black Booties, old | Daisy Earrings, old (similar here) | Buckely London mesh bracelets c/o

Lately this dress has served as one of my favorite skirts, especially when paired with different prints!  Repurposing items you already have in your closet is a great way to give clothing a little more life!  This time, I wanted to pair the stripes with this comfy floral shirt I snagged from H&M about a  year ago.  The shirt is made from a sweatshirt material, so it's like wearing sweats to work!  Love it.  I also especially love this floral print; the yellows stand out amongst the black!  But I think it would also look great with yellow skinnies, so I definitely have to add more colored pants to my wardrobe!  These prints go so well together because the black in both prints tie them together!

I kept the accessories very simple today.  The daisy earrings are so charming and perfect for the spring.  And these mixed metal mesh bracelets from Buckley London match everything (or at least I try to get them to match!)  They are a must have for any collection!

Derby Day is almost here, and today's Sunday Spotlight is a roundup of some of my favorite dress options for the big event!  When I think Derby, I think floral prints and bright colors, and these choices are perfect.

With the buzz about the Lilly for Target release, no one has been talking about the Milly collection for Kohl's.  I'm liking what I see online and I can't wait to get in store and see it in person.  There are quite a few pretty florals for the picking in the collection!

I'm definitely looking forward to the Derby Party I'm planning for my work, and I'm leaning towards a Lilly dress for my outfit-we'll have to wait and see which print it is though!

Chambray shirt, old | Lauren Conrad white denim, old | Lace tank, old | Lilly Pulitzer Murfee Scarf, old  (but loving all of the scarves in the new collection here) | Old Navy heels, old | East & Linbrooke Cotton Candy earrings, c/o | Rocksbox Gorjana necklace |

I think I have a color theme going on here this April!  But how can you not love these beautiful pastel shades of green and blue for spring!  This outfit was very spring-like but the layers were great for this chilly weather we're having on the East Coast.

Once again, I planned the outfit around the accessories.  I'm in love with the colors of the East & Linbrooke earrings!  Check out the other jewels and clothes too, and use code paint10 for 10% off your East & Linbrooke purchase!  I'm loving everything on the site!

The Gorjana necklace from my first Rocksbox has really grown on me, it's a great layering piece!  I'll be sharing my experience with Rocksbox in a future post, but until then, you can get your first month free with code paintthetownchicxoxo!  And if you have not tried Old Navy shoes before, hurry and get a pair!  I'm 3 for 3 with my collection so far and I can't wait to add more Old Navy shoes to my wardrobe!

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Turquoise Tank, old | Lace Sweater, old | Pants, old | Wedges, old | Chloe + Isabel Earrings | Bip and Bop Necklace | Emerson Grace Wire Bracelets | Moira Anne Artisans Evil Eye Bracelet

Since today's outfit was inspired by these gorgeous Chloe+Isabel earrings, I feel like I have to start this post with the accessories.  The earrings are definitely my favorite C+I piece in my growing collection!  The arm party matched perfectly as well.  I'm in love with this evil eye bracelet that came in my HerMainLine goody box last month!

The outfit was pretty simple, but I really wanted to add a pop of color to the white/nude theme I had going on.  Lately I'm loving light colored pants - I'm hoping to find more non-black options that are suitable for work, especially with summer coming soon!

Mariposa Couture Lace Black Maxi c/o | Bauble Bar Necklace (purchased during a big sale, but all of their necklaces are gorgeous!) | Rocksbox Kendra Scott earrings (use code paintthetownchicxoxo for your first month for free!) | Clutch, old | Wedges, old

It seems like it's maxi madness right now.  The warm weather has me pulling out every maxi I own, and I'm not complaining!  From the lace trim to the cutout back, this maxi from Mariposa Couture has stunning details!  There are even more cutouts, but the lace portion of my bra matched perfectly, so I kept it on.  I'll have to find an option for the future though because I love a great back detail.  The maxi came with the fun black and white belt, which I've also styled above.  This dress is so comfy, but it is more of a dressy maxi, so I would suggest it for more of a nighttime look!

They are currently offering 50% off any purchase with code MYSTYLE, so go check out the selection now!

I also have to quickly chat about Rocksbox!  Recently I joined on as Rocksbox It Girl!  I just received my first set and I'm loving it (head over to Instagram to see all of my pieces!)  I've always loved the larger statement pieces Kendra Scott makes, so I never gave a second glance to these adorable Lee earrings in Platinum Druzy.  I'm loving the whole idea behind Rocksbox and a review will be up shortly.

Stayed tuned to see more on Rocksbox soon.  Until the, use code paintthetownchicxoxo to get your first month for free!

Golden Tote Red Maxi, old | New York & Company Earrings, old Rope Belt, old

I've held on to this Golden Tote maxi for a while now, and yesterday seemed like a great occasion to pull it out.  It was very warm, and I was attending an event that I didn't want to be too dressed up for, so this dress was perfect.  The color is great for spring because it's more of a coral with orange undertones!  The detailing at the neckline does dress it up, but I will be using this as more of a casual maxi the next time around.  I've loved all of my experiences with Golden Tote (you can check out some past reviews here and here.)  I'm eagerly waiting for my April GT to arrive, so I'll be sharing some currently items when that comes in!

I liked matching the belt with the detailing!  I think gold accessories would also look great with this color.  I do have to get more light colored clutches though to match though.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
