Paint The Town Chic: Sunday Spotlight
Sunday Spotlight

Who else is excited for the new Beauty and the Beast movie to come out?!  I'm loving all of the trailers I've seen so far.  So I had to dedicate this week's Sunday Spotlight to Beauty and the Beast inspired fashion!

When I think of clothing, of course the iconic yellow gown and the blue day dress immediately come to mind.  I'm really loving the mustard lace romper/dress that I've been seeing, and I thought it was the perfect way for us to incorporate a little of that elegance into our wardrobe.  In terms of the blue dress, my newest piece from Enclothe Boutique would be a great choice (check out the full post here!)  It's perfect for a causal stroll through town!  After a quick search, I saw that Kohls and some of the other stores also have clothing lines for Beauty and the Beast, many of them in a pretty, whimsical floral print.

Can't forget the accessories.  I am really crushing on Danielle Nicole's line of Disney inspired bags.  I want them all!  And for jewelry I love everything FemmeDeBloom creates!  Here is her list of Beauty and the Beast baubles.

I'm not one for sneakers, but how beautiful are those New Balance sneakers, one of three designs specially created for Beauty and the Beast.  I love the floral touch and the light denim finish!  Definitely a must have.

Are you going to incorporate Beauty and the Beast into your wardrobe?  If so, I'd love to know how!

If there is one color I would pick for spring, it's blush.  It's no wonder that rose quartz is one of the Pantone colors of the year!  The soft hue is reminiscent of cherry blossoms and springtime blooms.  Blush is a shade that compliments all skin tones; it's definitely a color to incorporate into your spring wardrobe.

Of course I'm also loving the blush accessories.  I'm crushing on Lauren Conrads new line of handbags...in particular that floral detailed tote is calling my name.  Gorgeous, right?!  I'm also loving those pretty heels and wedges.  I think blush accessories would look great with an all black or all white palette.

If you want more blush inspiration, be sure to check out this Valentine's Day Sunday Spotlight post!

I've always been a fan of embroidered details, but there's something about the embroidered denim trend that reminds me of my childhood!  I mean, the 90s are back, right?!  I'm especially loving the denim miniskirts, which are great for spring.  I collected a few of my favorite pieces below...

Periwinkle is one of my favorite shades.  In fact, I featured it over the summer with one of my favorite floral skirts (check out the post here!)  It's one of those shades that works all year, but I think it's the perfect shade to transition from winter to spring!  Periwinkle is also flattering on all skin types!

I rounded up some of my current favorite pieces in this post.  I'm especially crushing on the periwinkle lace dress and the pretty florals!  I'm also still loving cold shoulder pieces and ruffles.  So excited to add more blues to my wardrobe for spring!

Valentine's Day is just weeks away, so today's Sunday Spotlight features some perfect red and pink pieces.  There are so many gorgeous red and pink dresses and clothing out there, it's so hard to pick just one! I'm dying over that Ted Baker heart sweater above.  I also recently styled this pretty pink midi dress (see the full post here.)  I think would be a great option, and it's less than $20!  Check out some other options below.

I recently snagged a Winky Lux Flower Balm from Cure de Repos, one of the cutest spas in Philly.  I'm obsessed with it.  It's a moisturizing balm that works with your pH balance to get the perfect pink stain!  Plus it has the prettiest flower in the middle.  They have additional makeup products that I can't wait to try, especially this Birthday Cake Gloss!!

There's something about rich, deep greens that make me so happy, especially this time of year!  I started off my obsession with the sweater dress from Enclothe Boutique.  I'm so obsessed with it and get compliments whenever I wear it (I'll have to show if off on the blog soon!)  I'm also obsessed with this dress (seriously, those ruffles are the cutest!) and this strapless jumpsuit (a fresh change from the black versions!)

But lets not forget the accessories!  Green appears in a lot of winter prints, like plaids and moody florals.  I'm also loving baubles featuring the hue.  Recently I've also been fascinated with Lipstick Queen's Frog Prince Collection - anyone here try it?

As we get closer to Christmas/New Years and holiday parties, what better topic for today's Sunday Spotlight than merry metallics!  When I think of holiday fashion, the first thing that comes to mind is metallics.  I love anything with gold, silver or rose gold details (though I'm especially loving rose gold this season!)

I've already started lining up my holiday dresses, and of course some include metallic details!  The skirts and dresses above are attention worthy!  I'm also loving the glitter Kate Spade Keds.  I have the rose gold version, but the gold is so pretty too.

If you want a to incorporate golds and silver in a low key way, accessories are the way to go.  I always turn to Chloe + Isabel and BaubleBar for the perfect jewel to top off my outfits.  Chloe + Isabel has an especially pretty line right now, the Starburst line, which features sparkling stars (perfect for New Year festivities!)

And you can't have skip the festive makeup!  I love an all gold glitter accent nail, or a dusting of glitter at the bottom or top of each nail, as seen above.

Today's Sunday Spotlight features one of my favorite fall shades - Burgundy!  I was scrolling through my Instagram feed and that shade definitely stands out.  Call it what you want but as soon as fall hits, the berries, wines, and burgundys comes out in full force!  My first fall task was getting a dark manicure, as you can see a peek from in this blog post!

5 Ideas to Style Your Burgundy Pieces...

  • Soft Pinks & Berry Shades
  • Gold & Rose Gold
  • Navy
  • Leopard Print
  • Chambray

I'm crushing on the burgundy and pink color combos.  The soft delicate pinks are a great contrast to the rich hues and the berry colors (1 or 2 shades lighter than burgundy) create a great color block effect!  But navy, leopard print and chambray are all fun ways to accent burgundy for fall as well.

Of course I have to highlight the gorgeous lingerie from Adore Me!  Adore Me is an online boutique that sells a variety of lingerie pieces, including bra and panty sets that are already paired for you!  There's even a monthly VIP membership where you can snag major steals, including free items!  Some of my favorite Adore Me sets right now include the Lucia set, the Noreh Contour set and the Nira Contour set!

My favorite season is quickly approaching, and this season I'm keeping my mind (and closet) open to trying some new shades of yellow and orange.  Growing up, these two have always been my least favorite colors.  But I'm really loving the mustard, ochre and rust shades that are popping up, especially what I'm seeing in pants form!

I know there are many other options out there in these colors.  I'm currently searching for the perfect oversized ochre sweater (because when else can you wear orange!)

Hope your week is off to a great start!

The button front suede skirt is one of my favorite trends for fall.  They work now with wedges and tanks, but how cute will these be with tights and boots as they transition into colder weather!  I'm loving the variety of colors as well, but I'm really loving the red and the tan colors the most.  I can't wait to snag one of these for fall!

Is anyone else prepping for tomorrow's Lilly Pulitzer sale?!  I'm excited to snag a few goodies, but it seems like this year's sale is a whole new ballgame.  I have my list of wants ready but won't be disappointed if I don't get everything I'm hoping for.  From past experience and reading the new rules, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

1.) Go for the section where you want the most goodies first.
Shorts and popovers tend to go quickly, so if you want those, add them first.

2.) If you absolutely want something, grab it and check out!
Items in your cart are not guaranteed!  Also new this year, there is no checking out and shopping further.  Once you check out, you'll have to get back in line.  This is how the Lilly tech team will be making sure the site doesn't get overloaded.

3.) Be sure to check the site often.
In the last sale, I snagged two additional dresses on the second day of the sale!  In the past there have been flash sales later in the afternoon as well.

4.) Signature stores and via stores also have sales.
If you miss out on your must-haves, check out some other stores that carry Lilly!  Not only are you supporting a small business, sometimes they price match or even have better prices and some have better customer service!

5.) Update your info online.
Being prepped makes checkout quicker!

I'm also sharing some must have items from the sale.  On the top are items that I currently own and love (the Briellas are so comfy, Elsas are an obvious, and What A Racquet has been my surprise print obsession!) and the bottom row are items I am hoping to get tomorrow!  I'm sure I'll change my mind many more times before the morning, so we'll see what happens.
Happy Shopping ladies!

Anyone else ready for some fall fashion?  Fall is my favorite season and all of these previews for sweaters and boots are getting me excited for the transition.  I've gathered some of my favorite pieces to take into fall, all with one of my favorite details: bows!

The pale pink of these boots is so refreshing!  I typically purchase black or brown boots, but this season I'm loving the different colors that I'm seeing.  I can't wait to add a fun pair of boots for the fall.  I'm also loving mustard yellow as a transition color.  I think it'll pair nicely with navy or a wine color!

When accessorizing, I think gold shoes and jewels look best. But I'm sure a pop of navy or even orange would be fun as well.

Crop tops are hot for the summer.  While I love the look, I never thought I could get away with this trend.  But there are ways for ladies of all ages and all body types to incorporate this look.  I particularly love the crop and skirt combos that show just a hint of skin!  Another great option is to pair crops with jeans and wedges-simple yet sophisticated that can go from day to night!  Of course a fun print just makes the look stand out.  If you're not quite ready to show skin, I love the illusion of the crop seen in the dress on the right!

So many ways to incorporate this look into your wardrobe!  What do you think of this trend?

I'm always a fan of bold prints and definitely florals for the summer!  I'd been eyeing the Old Navy palm print shorts for a while, and I just snagged it on super sale in store.  I'm also crushing on that cute brushstroke print from J Crew!    And a pair of white shorts is a staple in any summer wardrobe (the scalloped hem is an added bonus!)

One of my favorite trends right now is off the shoulder.  What better season than summer to bare a little shoulder!  Right now I'm gravitating towards blue and white prints as well as bright colors - they remind me of resort wear that I would take on vacation.  These pieces above are perfect for this trend.

In other news, I'm so glad last week's exciting but brutal schedule is over and I'm ready to get back to my regular schedule, including getting back to updating the blog!  Here's to a new week and getting a little closer to summer!

In other news, I'm so glad last week's exciting but brutal schedule is over and I'm ready to get back to my regular schedule, including getting back to updating the blog!  Here's to a new week and getting a little closer to summer!

One of the hottest trends this summer is palm prints, which I am loving for a few reasons.  First off, how gorgeous are these prints!  Second, while palm prints are being found in all colors, I'm particularly taken with the green color ways.  I don't have much green in my wardrobe and I'm so excited to add some of these to my wardrobe.  And palm trees just remind me of summer and tropical places, which are all good things!

I snagged this Potter's Pot leaf dress from Golden Tote last month.  The colors and detailing are beautiful.  I will be styling this dress here shortly, but in the meantime it does look like it's still available in all sizes!  I recommend sizing up as this runs small.

I also highly recommend the Eva Mendes collection.  Every piece I own is so beautiful and her collections are always on trend.  I haven't tried this particular dress on, but find her sizing to run big.  And I will definitely be getting something in the palm print from Old Navy.

You can't go wrong with any of these pieces.  Palm prints are a must have!  What are you favorites?
