August 2016 - Paint The Town Chic

Ladies, I'm going to let you in on a secret.  I do a lot of my shopping on Facebook.  That's right, Facebook!  There are so many boutiques that operate (or host special sales) on Facebook and they have amazing deals on the cutest clothes.  A few of these said boutiques have gotten together to host a major blowout sale for Labor Day.  So, what boutiques will be part of this sale?  Here they are:

1.) Autumn Olive Boutique/Dibs! Clothing
Autumn Olive Boutique is an online boutique, but Dibs! Clothing is the Facebook part of this company!  The best part about Dibs is that you can claim items before they hit the boutique (and sometimes things sell out right on Facebook!)  I've ordered from both sides of this and love my pieces!

2.) The Bauble Gum Shop
The Bauble Gum Shop specializes in trendy jewelry at affordable prices!  This boutique is new to me, so I can't wait to check it out.

3.) Citrus Hill Clothing Boutique
Citrus Hill Clothing curates outfits so you don't have to worry about putting pieces together.   Outfits usually consist of a top, a bottom and an accessory.  New outfits are released every Tuesday and Thursday.  If you buy all of the pieces in the bundle, you get an additional discount.  This is such a great idea, right!

4.) Enclothe Boutique
Enclothe Boutique offers clothing options which you can bundle for cheaper prices.  Currently Enclothe offers 3 bundle options, and you choose every item that goes into the bundle (which eliminates the fear of unwanted surprises.)  I've bought a lot from Enclothe and love every single piece!  Enclothe is an online boutique, but hosts frequent sales on Facebook, especially in between seasons!

5.) Lemon & Limes Boutique
Lemon & Limes Boutique specializes in baubles, stationery and gifts!  The Facebook group is the VIP group that has access to items first and exclusive deals.  I've browsed the items and they are pretty cute!  Aside from fun, trendy baubles (including some that are designer inspired) you can also grab mystery bags and other sweet deals!

6.) Party Clothes
Party Clothes offers trendy, boho and girly clothing at amazing prices.  I just purchased the cutest dupe for this Free People dress, and it was under $40!  There are so many great pieces that are listed frequently and though I want them all, I have practiced restraint.
p.s. You'll see that lbd on the blog soon!

7.) Skivvy Style Box
Skivvy Style Box is one that I'm intrigued about and can't wait to try.  This surprise based box specializes in sleepwear and lingerie.  Boxes could also include clothing and shoes!  Skivvy also hosts sales and dibs/flash sales on the Facebook page.

8.) Tag Online Boutique
Tag offers trendy, affordable, and gorgeous (clever name, isn't it) items!  Tag is an online boutique, but those part of the Facebook group get first dibs on items as well as indulge in occasional sales!

Who knew that Facebook could be such a great place to go shopping!  Even though I haven't bought from every boutique listed, I interact with almost all of these pages on Facebook and I can tell they offer quality items with amazing customer service.

I will definitely be checking out this blowout sale, but until then, get familiar with all the deets here!

Golden Tote Tunic, old | LulaRoe Leggings | Ross Crossbody (bought in store) | Ilymix Sunnies (get 20% off with code Pri20)

Everyone always talks about LulaRoe, so I had to find out how amazing it was for myself.   My friend Cheryl, a huge fan of LulaRoe herself, recently hosted a pop-up and I decided to finally get my first piece, a pair of leggings.  These leggings are just as they say, buttery soft and super comfortable, not see-through at all, and the prints are to die for.  I wanted something that I could wear into fall and chose this pretty floral with hints of orange!  I paired with a simple white tunic to let the leggings stand out.  This is not my last LulaRoe piece, I can tell you that!

I also want to highlight this adorable bag that I recently snagged at Ross.  I love shopping there for shoes and bags because the prices are great.  This mustard crossbody was calling my name and I had to have it for fall.

Anyone else a fan of LulaRoe?  What other styles should I try?!

Golden Tote Dress (no longer available, but love this) | Booties, old
Hair by Tresse Noir

As my sister said, no Snapchat filter needed here.  Not when you can get your hair styled by Tresse Noir!  I met the talented ladies of Tresse Noir while browsing the PHS Flower Market.  I'm a sucker for trying new hair styles and couldn't resist this crown braid adorned with fresh flowers!  This style is perfect for weddings, bachelorettes, birthdays, galas, or anytime you just want to plan a girls night out.

Speaking of events, I'm really loving the lace dresses that have been popping up.  Of course I fell in love with this flattering style and had to get one of my own.  The black dress seemed like a great choice for all the events I have coming up this fall.  This particular LBD is from GoldenTote, but is a few months old so sadly it's not available any longer.

About Tresse Noir
Tresse Noir is a mobile styling company, which means they'll come to you!  The company operates in Philadelphia and NYC.  The stylists are skilled in working with all types of hair and offer many style options.  Aside from being talented, the ladies I met today were very friendly!  Check out their website for more information.

I just realized that I've been holding out on you guys; my last Ipsy review was back in May!  Fast forward to August, and this month was definitely a big hit in my books!  From the first peek at this bag, I knew I would be happy with my items.  I also especially loved the bag this month, which was designed by Ipsy founder Michelle Phan.
The theme for August was Sugar Highness.  Let's take a closer look at what was inside the bag...
I love nail polish, so it's always nice to find a brand and/or shade that I don't already own.   I've been looking around for the perfect lavender shade so I was very happy to see this in my bag.  The formula was amazing, the polish hugged my nails so it didn't leave streaks and so far, it doesn't seem like it will chip easily.  Very impressed with Ciate!
I loved this lip crayon in a deep rosy shade.  It was so easy to use on my lips, and kept my lips feeling soft with a hint of color.  I wore it as a tint, but you can also build up the color for a darker look.  This will be a great color for fall.  I also loved the hint of mint flavor.  I couldn't find this exact color on the website, but there are so many others in the line that are worth trying out!

While this wasn't the most exciting item, it was definitely something that I will use.  The only reason I haven't opened this up yet is because I already have so many in use!  I got the Coconut Vanilla flavor and I can't wait to give this a try.
Now here is another useful item that will be a lifesaver during the workweek.  These wipes have already gone into my work bag.  This travel size is great because in comes in a 10-pack, making it easy to carry around.  I love wipes to freshen up midday or when I'm feeling lazy at night, hehe.   So excited to use these.
I'm not usually one for wearing eye shadow, but after swatching this, I would definitely use this palette!  The shades are gorgeous and they all pair well together.  Have I mentioned how cute this packaging is?!  I'm really loving this brand.

Overall another great month for Ipsy.  Loved everything I received and the bag will definitely be put to use as well.  Now to wait for September sneak peeks...

Tie Sleeve Top (similar black option here) | White Skinnies | Flats, old (similar here) | Choker | Clutch, old

There's something so chic about a black and white outfit.  Believe me, I'm all about the color...most times.  I'd been eyeing this black cold shoulder top from Golden Tote for a while, and finally snagged it during a recent sale!  The details are just so pretty and I love the off the shoulder neckline.  Paired with white skinnies, it  makes a great night out look.  To top it off, I paired with this bow choker which I also snagged in the Golden Tote sale.  The top is only available in coral right now (which is also gorgeous) but I've linked some other pretty top options below.  I will definitely be replicating this look again soon.

Shop The Post:

I think this illustration from B. Joyful Illustrations summarizes today's sale pretty well!  Refreshing the page at 8am still put me in line behind thousands and thousands of people.  I didn't get onto the Lilly website for almost 3 hours.  Luckily I did some backup shopping at Amazon and (amazing prices, newer items on sale and an extra coupon code on top of everything = jackpot!!!)  I also picked up some items at a signature store.  I'm so happy with my haul; I got many items that I really wanted along with some impulse buys that I hope work out!

Here's my haul.....
Anne Trapeze Dress | Cove Dress (still available in this color way) | Pixie Tank (all sizes available!)  |  Coral Tank (all sizes and only $29!) | Harper Dress | Kyla Romper | Marlowe Dress | Marlowe DressCathy ShiftClara Dress (all sizes still available!)

Lots of great things still available, so keep checking back.  I have picked up new items on day 2, just sayin!  In looking at my recap,  I have to put my wallet away now.  But I would love to hear what you scored in the sale below!

I can't believe it's nearing the end of August.  But that means that there's one more Enclothe sale left this Friday! In this blog post, I'm rounding up some items tthat I hope will be in the upcoming sale and one gem from last week's sale!  Remember to join the Enclothe Behind the Scenes Facebook Page as that is where the sale will be listed.

Trend Tips for Fall
  • Cropped Skinnies are a great staple piece.  In addition to black, I've been stocking up on different colored skinnies to pair with long tunics comfy sweaters!
  • Moody florals prints are a fall/winter favorite!  The cardigan and floral dresses are great pieces that can be layered to create different looks.
  • Who says you can't wear white after Labor Day!  The embroidered dress is one of my favorite recent pieces and I'll be wearing it into fall!  Just pair with an oversized cardigan and booties for fall!  (See my styled post here)
  • The Tea & Rose shell is gorgeous.  It adds a pop of color under a blazer and the embroidered detail is gorgeous!
  • T-shirt and Piko dresses are another must for fall.  They look great with boots and a denim jacket!  Did I mention how comfy they are?!
  • I'm obsessed with long vests right now.  They are on trend and are great for layering!

And finally, be sure to enter to win a $25 gift card to Enclothe, which can be applied to sale items or anything else in the store!

I can't wait to read about the items you're looking forward to seeing in the upcoming sale!

Hey dolls, who else is prepping for the Lilly Pulitzer APS Sale on Monday?!  I am, and a little further below I'm sharing some tips that I've picked up over the years.  But first, how cute is this Rosemarie dress which I recently picked up on sale.  I don't think this spring print got as much attention as it deserved, but the dress is even more gorgeous in person.  The print is very vivid and I just love the fit and flare shape!  I was worried about the lace insets, but luckily they do not show that much skin. I got my usual size and it fit great.  I definitely recommend grabbing this in the upcoming sale!
Alright, let's get to the important stuff.  Here is what you should know to get ready for Monday!

1.) Know What You Want
Items go really quickly in the sale, so it's important to make a list of what you want before Monday or at least be aware of the different categories.  In my experience, shorts, popovers and scarves sell out immediately.  Check those categories first if you're looking to score any of those.  Also, some prints go faster.  If you know you want a certain print, grab that first as well.   Prints in this sale may include spring and early summer!

2.) Check Out Quickly
Items in your cart are not guaranteed.  If you really want something, make sure to shop and check out quickly and get back in the virtual line for round 2.

3.) Keep Checking For Additional Items
I've scored items midday, and even the second day of the sale.  Make sure you check back to see if anything gets added.  Also, sometimes Lilly sets aside some special social media deals.  Follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates!

4.) Check Signature Stores for Sales
Sometimes Signature Stores price match, or even have cheaper prices, during the APS.  I've shopped at quite a few of them and they sometimes have better customer service!

5.) Update Your Contact Info
Set up or update your account on the Lilly Pulitzer site.  That saves time when you check out during the sale!

Hope these tips help.  And stay tuned, I'll be sharing my haul here next week!

Hey dolls!  I'm back chatting about one of my favorite online boutique, Enclothe Boutique, where there are some major sales going on right now.  I own so many pieces that are currently on sale, so I know they are worth grabbing.  I wanted to share some of my favorite Enclothe looks currently on sale and if you read to the end, there is a sweet giveaway.
Parrot's Life For Me Dress, $28
This is one of my all time favorites.  The darling print has a vintage feel and the cut is very flattering.  I love the print so much that I would wear this into fall (I especially love it with the chambray!)  This brand does run slightly small, so I would suggest sizing up, especially if you are in between sizes!

See the full post here!
Southwestern Princess Dress, $25
Another dress that I'm obsessed with!  The print is so pretty and will transition well into fall.  I also love the billowy sleeves, which are very trendy right now.  This fits true to size.

See the full post here!
Crochet Panel Peach Dress, $18
Now this is a steal at $18!  Again, I loved how loose and casual it was, but the crochet detail on the sides took the dress to a new level!  The peach shade is so pretty, and while the dress is not see through, I would recommend wearing nude underneath.  This fits true to size.

Window Panes Asymmetrical Dress, $24
I had been looking for a dress with the window pane print for a long time and I was so glad to see this at Enclothe. I've discovered that asymmetrical hems are so flattering and make legs look longer.  Everyone needs this easy breezy dress that can be dressed up or down!  This also fits true to size (p.s. this has pockets...)

There are so many other goodies on sale, and a lot of them are perfect for fall.  You can find them on the website or join the Facebook group!  Now onto the giveaway...

Don't forget to set your clocks for this week's sale which will be Friday at 3pm est!  Can't wait to read about what Enclothe pieces you're loving!

I can't believe it's already time for another Glossybox review!  I always get so excited to see what the Glossybox team curates each box.  The August theme was Sun Kissed and the products selected are reminiscent of creating and keeping that back from vacation glow!  Now, onto the goods...
As soon as I opened the box, I was greeted with the perfect beach scent (seriously, I smelled coconuts, sunscreen and florals!) and it was filled with so many goodies!  All six products were new to me so I couldn't wait to investigate each further and find out what was creating that wonderful scent!
1.) Wella Oil Reflections Smoothing Oil
Right now, I'm looking for all the help I can get in the hair department!  As much as I love my ombre, it has been so drying on my hair.  This multipurpose oil is definitely a lifesaver - it can be used for conditioning (apply a few drops in damp hair), styling (apply a few drops before styling with heat products) or for finishing a look (apply after styling for a smooth finish and to intensify color reflection.)   So far I've applied it to my ends and my hair immediately felt softer and smoother.  It smells amazing as well.

2.) De Bruyere After Sun Lotion
Have I mentioned before how much I love getting products from other countries in subscription boxes?  What better way to try new products!  The lotion, made in France, is made of ingredients such as Vitamin E (protection from UV and pollution) and Monoi (a natural moisturizer and restructuring complex than smells amazing!)  Yep, this After Sun Lotion was the culprit of the delicious smelling box.  The oil has a very liquid consistency which helps with application.  It's very soothing and can see how this replenishes skin after a long day in the sun.  This product can be applied as often as possible.   I honestly don't spend that much time in the sun, but rest assured that I'll be finding any excuse to use this!
How many of us dread removing mascara at the end of the day?!  I for one hate it.  In comes Too Faced to the rescue.  I don't think you can go wrong with a Too Faced item in a subscription box, but this item in particular intrigued me because I have never seen anything like it.  This will be put to use ASAP, but judging from the reviews this product is amazing!
At first glance this doesn't seem as exciting as the other items in the August Glossybox.  However, they are not to be underestimated!  I have a problem with hairties pulling out my hair and giving me headaches.  These Traceless Hair Rings are said to leave hair smooth and kink free while also being painless.  I gave one of these babies a quick try and just tying it twice held my hair tightly without being painful.  I'm so happy to have learned about these!  Also, I don't know how Glossybox knew that I love hot pink, but I'll want these in black as well as that will get more use.

This is the cutest thing ever.  Since I had never heard of Trifle before this, I had to look this brand up right away and seriously fell in love with the cute packaging and amazing looking products.  This lippie is just as amazing as I hoped.  It went on smooth, had the prettiest nude color with great color payoff, and had a nice fruity scent.  I also liked that this wasn't drying, a huge factor for me.  And to top it off, this is cruelty free and vegan.  I definitely need to try more from Trifle!
Now this was the item that varied from box to box.  I received the Active Mud for Face and Body.  I never used a mud mask for body, so I'm curious about that.  I'll most likely use this as a face mask.   I took a quick whiff and I love the scent  - it's reminiscent of Aveda products.  I can't wait to give this a try!

Another win for Glossybox; I really believe they get better each month!  I may have said this before, but this is by far my favorite box yet.  However the sneak peek for September hints of something related to fashion so of course I cannot wait to see spoilers!

If you've tried any of these, I'd love to hear about it below.

A huge thank you to Glossybox for providing this box in exchange for an honest review.  All opinions shared above are my own!
